Maybe the thread title should be changed from "Don't Buy" to "Should I not buy a Garret Turbo?"

I was surprised no one mentioned the fact that Honeywell took federal bailout money and so are really a government owned/run business now. I mean, really, who wants to buy a turbo that Obama forced down our throats?

don not buy garret turbos! indeed they were bought out and now are made in slave labor camps in the mongolian desert by small children chained to their workstation and forced to do metal work with small finger nail files and tonka hammers and chisels. small children sold buy their peasant parents to chinese red army elite officers who run these slave labor camps and profit from this evil cruelty..

obama and nancy pelosi have toured these camps and are under pressure (and receive bribes) otherwise the chinese government will put all their US treasury notes up for sale on ebay resulting in armageddon.

With everyone shipping all their manufacturing over seas due to the hike and prospective hikes under the current administration, I don't see why this would be out of the realms of possibilities...I mean thousands of other corporations have done it in recent years and many more are following daily as corporate tax goes up and up.

When someone said that all the jobs left here in the US would be in the service industry, I didn't realize they meant food service

Beth and I are looking at moving to Dubai, there are a lot of teaching jobs there that pay really well and I know a guy that moved there to work at a speed shop, I'm about to hit him up and see what the job market is like there.

I said Dubai because if I had said UAE half the people on this board would have been like "what is he talking about"

But yes I'm aware of whats going on over there. We have actually been looking a lot of places. Its not that I want to get out of the U.S. but it would be nice to travel to some different countries and get to see them as locals for 2 to 3 years at a time.

And they have Tomcats that still fly.

Matt: The PEOPLE there respect and welcome US Citizens who are respectful and open towards people who are not of their own country. It is our GOVERNMENT that the People of Iran and the government of Iran have a problem with. Just like our government has a problem with their government.

Person vs Person, we are very similar.

But I would still not recommend going there at this time...

OH great Will goes off tangent with the Tomcat rant again. But he is right as long as you talk to the people who refer to them self as Persians or the youth.

^buy MORE stock. Their profits will increase the more they outsource overseas and people are going to keep buying their turbos. Everyone who sells a garret turbo had to get it from garret.

    move to UAE/dubai?

err... im in computers. i used to work for an online trans processing company. one of the guys i worked with was from kuwait. a standup guy. seriously. and he looked exactly like mohamid atta. his family was fairly well to do.

anyway i used to talk to him about getting a job in kuwait, uae, dubai etc and he said .. yep.. i could go over there and make a mint. and he would help.. but he said i would hate it, he did, he took basically a huge pay cut to come to america. he got his citizenship and did not have any interest in moving back, regardless of how much money he could make..

thats my take on working in the gulf.

the shift to move jobs offshore is in the end not good for our country. thats my take. how you fix it though i have no idea. our whole economy is largely consumer based. we consume products made overseas cheaper than can be done here and the price we save is the price we pay in lost jobs. whats left is service jobs and jobs that cannot be done offshore. you cant have your car serviced offshore, you cant have your yardwork done offshore, you cant get you mcDonalds burgers offshore etc.. but if it can be manufactured offshore its gonna go there. if it can be supported offshore its gonna go there.

bottom line, you have kids, they need to practice flipping burgers or changing oil, being a nurse, doctor or waitress, or cashier in best buys.. cause thats where all the jobs are gonna be in the next 50 years.

i hate the current use of the term 'progressive'. thats how the current fellow travelers often refer to themselves. and indeed a good bit of the agenda is 'progressive'... but i think its better to just call them what they are 'socialists', and in some cases marxists..

did you know that teddy roosevelt was a progressive? and that many of the things he implemented were progressive ideals?

one of the most popular presidents ever.. maybe number 2 after washington of presidents that were loved by the citizens during their term in office.

On a national level, progressivism gained a strong voice in the White House when Theodore Roosevelt became president in 1901. TR believed that strong corporations were good for America, but he also believed that corporate behavior must be watched to ensure that corporate greed did not get out of hand (trust-busting and federal regulation of business).

We haven't made any final decisions yet, just looking into it. But it would just be for a couple of years. Her job would be a huge pay increase, more than 3 times what she makes here as a teacher. Assuming I could get a decent job over there we could put away a lot of money in 3 years.

I think changing our current tax structure from "tax the ever living crap out of anyone making money" would go along way to bringing work back to the states. I mean seriously, all it does is increase the cost of the goods to the end user. Corporations don't pay taxes, they just charge more to make up the difference which hurts the guy on the street.
