Suggestions? I love Arrogant and Double Bastard. I want to try other types of beer and if I can find it near Topspeed tomorrow I will buy and try it!
It is an american strong ale. Just try anything in that style you can. If you really enjoy those types of beers, start looking into some barleywines. The alch is higher, and MUCH more noticeable, but you might enjoy them as well. Edit to add a few suggestions: Rogue Dead Guy/Double Dead Guy ale Victory Yakima Twilight (All victory beers are pretty much awesome) Lagunitas has a few that are close to this style If you want to try a barleywine: Sierra Nevada Bigfoot Victory Old Horizontal Great Divide Old Ruffian Stone Old Guardian Just to name a few...
Victory's triple is about the worst Belgian style beer I've tasted... also their IPA was kinda too yeasty and gross... I'd suggest Left Hand Chainsaw and Lagunitas WTF
the problem with tripel's is that many people have a weird reaction to the yeast by products and are very sensitive to phenolics. most complain about hospital and antiseptic/band aid tastes and smells
I like a bit of yeasty but Victory's IPA tasted like a sourdough roll at O'Charlie's.... Allagash seems to have no problem making a wonderful tasting triple....
I would say no beer is similar. I can't think of another beer that charges that DAMN much money for a beer that is hardly worth the expense. $17-$18/6 pack FTL
Wrong......the oaked was worth it. Cheap watered down beer FTL. I don't drink beer to get wasted for cheap. I drink it because I love how it tastes. The darker and hoppier the better.
Try Highland Brewing beers. $8.99 for a micro that is worth every penny. They have the Gaelic Ale, Mocha Stout, Kasmir, and several others. Their newest beer was ranked 97 points!
