I dont think that will work since its a warranty job. I doubt All Pro can handle that?

Same with Six Stars Im guessing?

Heading over tomorrow at 8am, sounds like they're going to start off with a tech riding with me. Lets hope they play nice.

The CVT in the 2010 Legacy is amazing. Rest of the car, not so much.

Yeah, I almost got a 2010 Outback 4cyl CVT. Nice ride.

How is the manual shifting(if it allows it)?

  19. Mindspin311

Its not bad. Simulated 6spd. Its about on par in shift speed compared to a typical auto trans.

The engine braking is awesome when you downshift via the paddles in 'manual' mode.

The CVT def. helps you get better mileage. As soon as it senses you start to cruise it drops the revs down to like 1500-1700.

Haha ok. So dropped the car off Tuesday morning. Talk to Jerry the next day, he says the trans needs to come out (duh). Tells me he'll call Thursday. No call Thurs-Sat, so I leave a message this morning.

Get a call back saying Tom still hasnt figured it out. I figured with a noise as loud as it was, that it would be pretty obvious what was wrong. Oh well..

So it looks like it was the center diff.

Well, Jerry called it a viscous coupling. Im assuming that means its the center diff since my front diff is open...

Yes, that would be the center diff.

So it really isnt the diff. Its just one of the bearings that supports the diff inside the case.

  24. Has this been resolved? ...hope you're back on the road!

I bought my 05 STI from Classic, and they did a few suspension mods for me. Jason Porter really hooked me up back then (sharing knowledge more than anything)...

these days, SOG is my new subbie home...

Yep, got the car back Thursday afternoon and promptly drove it up to VA. Transmission is great now.

Now its time to diagnose a clunking noise, but Im thinking its just my endlinks.

  26. make sure you checkout the bushings on your anti-sway bars... I got a strange clunk in my 05 and it was the rear swaybar moving around... just throwing that out there as something to check, fwiw...
