i need help finding out why my auxiliary/cigarette jack isn't working. it stopped working one day when i was using my aux-jack air compressor to pump up a tire i had to plug. now nothing works in it. like my GPS i need soon for a road trip to Indy :)

i looked up what fuse to replace, i pull that fuse and its fine. it's the same circuit/fuse as the power mirrors and they work. i pulled the dash out to look at the wires to see if there was a fuse behind the jack, but i didn't see anything that look burnt or damaged in anyway.

sooo, help please? any ideas are welcome.

On another note, has anyone figured out a way to tether your driver's side floor mat down? it has the stem that comes up on the left side, but it keeps slipping on the right side under my gas peddle. before i went and started cutting my carpet, i figured i see if anyone else as tackled this. i do have a buddy that can put a grommet on the right side of the mat, but i need to figure out where the best place is.

    thanks folks

RE: Aux - Have you tried using a multimeter to see if it is powered? I think there may be another fuse for that area. I cannot remember. I know my brother's 92-X had a similar problem and we ended up replacing some fuse that I thought was random at the time. He had no power to his aux power; however, his mirrors and dome light worked just fine. Have you tried pulling the fuse, even though it looks good, and replacing it?

RE: Floor Mats - The STI mats use a L shaped bracket that attaches to the front right (inside) of the driver's seat rail. Try using a grommet on the bottom right of your mat and a bracket in the same location.

Also, did you ever receive my reply to your email regarding the surveys?

Yes, and thanks Alex. We ended up using Facebook to target a motorcycle specific audience across the whole US. I'm not a Facebook guy, so i didn't even take it myself. Hopefully Triumph will give us a second call, though. they'd be a great client to have. maybe swing a deal for a new Bonneville ;) Did you know they build them in Newnan? i had no idea.

i did pull out the fuse, i didn't replace with a new one, though. the mirrors work so i didn't think i'd help. i will now though. do you recall the fuse being in one of the fuse boxes? or was it in the center dash or under the speedo?

i was thinking somewhere on the right side seat-rail for the bracket. there's a nut right there.

mine went out and the mirrors worked fine. ended up replacing it from the dealer for pretty cheap.

I may have an extra I can mail you. I'll have to rummage through storage at the shop.

probably just a bad outlet but I would check all fuses just to be sure like alex said. set your multimeter to continuity and check them that way.
