Hey guys, been driving my 2010 Leggie for about 10 days and I've run into an issue today. I know there are only a few Legacy's on here but I thought maybe this might be common with new Subies in general... The Fob is not working properly. I drove home from work normally and went to lock it after I got out and it didn't lock. I try the unlock and trunk and they don't work either. About 10 seconds later, the trunk popped open and the doors unlocked. After that it seems none of the buttons work. I can get in with the key, the alarm starts going off.. and it will disarm by hitting the lock button again. Then, when I get out, the lock button will work... and then nothing... The unlock won't work and the lock won't lock again. The security button inside is flashing at different intervals depending on what I'm doing.. I'm certain this has something to do with it. Plz tell me its something simple... I won't be able to get it to the dealership until Tuesday if it needs to be taken in.... Thx in advance... PS.. the spare Fob acts the same way... so I'm fairly certain it isn't a battery issue. It is rainy, maybe interferance???
If both fobs are having issues then I'd think it is a problem with the vehicle and not the fobs. I hate to say it, but have you read the owners manual about this?
Update: Fob worked like a champ this morning..... The only thing I can think is some kind of interferance from the rain or something... Who knows?
Yup... been working without a glitch since. Taking it to the dealership this week (drivers side door speaker sounds blown)... I'm going to mention the Fob thing then. I know I'm gonna get a "can not duplicate".. but its worth asking.
Don't really know what that means.. lol.. but, it had been working fine for the 1st 10 days I owned the car.... And I didn't move it before it just started working again... So I don't know...
sounds like you where in valet mode. if your drivers door isnt closed all the way when trying to arm the alarm, its really easy to accidentally put the car into that mode.
^^ Sounds reasonable / possible.... If thats the case then the manual doesn't mention it.... I guess it just resets itself after a period of time...
