i have to old slotted rotors from my wrx plus all the other brakes. will this fit on my 01 RS? i was wondering if it would be any better to swap them all over or just the rotors. are the calipers the same? will they fit the same pads as the wrx? i'm just trying to get the brakes on the RS to not feel so soft. and since i have these extra parts laying around....

direct swap. I have 04 WRX brakes and they fit perfectly. Just need to make sure you install the rotors along with the calipers.

ok, but are the calipers to my WRX better than the ones on the RS? and what lines do i get? steel braided for an RS or WRX?

im not sure about the calipers. but i think the rotors are a few mm's bigger. i wanna say the calipers are almost the same.

i swapped 03 wrx front brakes (rotors, calipers and lines) in under 30 mins onto my L. then drove them (unbled, missing fluid) from gwinnett to kennesaw. lol point is, its easy and doable

brake lines should be the same, no difference. I think I'm running WRX lines and they are a little on the long side...better that than too short.. ;)

Yeah the lines are compatible. The WRX brakes have 295mm front rotor diameter while your RS has a 276mm diameter rotor. If you aren't changing rotors, you should still be able to install the WRX calipers onto the 2.5rs caliper brackets to keep the proper distance from the hub. If you are changing rotors, just use all of the WRX parts and you'll be good to go!
