After 3 attempts, I finally got it right. These are the LED's you want. Make sure you get the twist lock bases with them. http://autolumination.com/74.htm "Matrix 3 led X brighter than than conventional single #74 LED's" (3rd one down one the page) or...the "74-xHP3 Wedge Base LED bulb" from, HERE Results: Overall: I still have bulb covers on the key ring and boost gauge...don't know if I will change them yet; kinda like the split.
Resurrecting an old thread here...but I have done this in my car now after seeing and hearing about this from Cohen. One thing I wanted to point out for future folks, is that the bulbs were actually #24. I orderd the #74 and twist lock as recommended, but could not get them to fit. After many emails back and forth with autoillumination, we came to the conclusion that the bulb size was wrong. I got the #24's in today and they fit perfectly into the OEM twist lock and look great. Thanks for the idea!
Wirelessly posted (From Your Mom's House) the bulb you have pictured is not the one I used. Glad you finally got it worked out.
And they weren't DOA? I stopped ordering from AutoLumination because more than half of what I was buying didn't work when it arrived. I prefer the lineup over at Oznium now.
No DOA in 2 shipments...though their packing method left much to be desired. newspaper isn't the best padding invented... Sent from my Droid using Tapatalk
But they aren't exactly mismatching...the Guages are all Red, and the HVAC and Audio controls are all Blue... Or in my car, the guages are the OEM green and the rest is blue. I still need to find a way to turn the Guage Cluster Blue....
Or in my car (sold), the radio, ac, keyring and gauges are all red. IMO, the way it should have been from the factory.
I'd like for my setup to be all Blue...but the guage cluster isn't really doable...from what I've seen at least.
youre doing it right that is how Subaru should have done it from the factory..not the lazy cost cutting Christmas tree red/green.
Prosport offers a clock gauge now http://prosportgauges.com/12-volt-Premium-Analog-clock-Amber/White.aspx
Thanks breel! I've been toying with the idea of getting the Prosprot blue digital clock and adding my clock pod back into the mix...
how about a clock with a 3rd hand that measures AFR instead of seconds... when you hit the throttle the AFR drops ... and you go back in time. <insert Delorean photo here>
that looks awesome i did that in my old gc... also my guage cluster... but in my mod i used a red permanent marker, and got all the backlit red. looks awesome looks sti red, if i can get a picture ill post one but props to you man looks sick, if i get a new car ill probably end up doing something like this..
