Hey guys, Just wanted to let you guys know that I am out of the Subaru world now (not that most of you will care). Picked up a new ride to take me kayaking and mountain biking. Thanks for all the help for the last few years. I'll still be around somewhat after I sell what I have left from the WRX. (IBwhydoeshethinkwecareweneverlikedhimanyways)
Well when you break that rear Dana axle give me a call, I have a Ford 8.8 w/LSD sitting at the shop for it. Have some steel fenders like those as well. Bit of advice, relocate all your vents for the axles and transfer case if plan on playing in the water and get an ARB snorkel as well. Good luck with it
Thanks guys! The front is a Dana 30 and the rear is a Dana 44. They have 4.88's in them. All alloy internals too. OX Lockers front and rear. Skidrow skid plates. Poison Spyder full cage. Rubicon Express lift. A few other things in it. I'm not going too hardcore with the off-roading yet but I'll get there.
I've got a set of American Racing Outlaw II's 17"x8" 4.5" backspace that I'll let go real cheap and they are in near perfect shape only problem is the clear coat has some chips
Just my Thule rack which is petty much sold to Xerxes. I may find a few other things around and I'll post them up. Thanks for the offer, but I don't have anymore money to spend on the Jeep for a little while. My Cragar's will be OK for a while. On a side note, want to sell your trophy Ranger?
Oh fun. I just put a 8.8 lsd into my 99tj. I have a dana30 with an ox locker in the garage waiting. I am just to lazy to deal with removing the damn steering linkage. ditto with what breel said. Be careful playin in the mud specially with the breather hole on the tranny.
Thanks! I really don't plan on doing any type of mudding with the Jeep. Mainly crawling. I dealt with what mud does to trucks with my last truck and I will never do it again. Thanks for the tip though for sure.
Thanks! Exactly my same situation just reversed. I loved my WRX, but there is just no where close to me to do anything fun with it, yet plenty of places for a Jeep to have a little fun.
you have pavement and I thought I saw a huge level grassy area...I could have a blast in my subaru(s).
We've done a few swaps on TJ's because someone grenade some essential part or all of them from mud and or water damage. Most damages were done by plain stupidity or just ignorance (vents) and could have been avoided. After some recent revelations about some members on this site, I to will be moving along to other interest and crawling is one of them. Good luck and may see you on the trails
Oh you would be surprised at what I'd let them go for which is sad but I need them off my back deck, along with a bunch of other crap for cars and trucks I haven't owned in well over 10 years.
Thanks Breel. I may have a few questions along the way for you (seeing as you are knowledgeable about this stuff) as I start to learn about it I'll let you know when I am in Atlanta again and we can discuss.
No that looks like something FUN! Good luck with the crawler man....I'm sure you will enjoy it a lot.
If that is your new daily driver you should start start saving up for a beater. The tire noise and the gas that thing is going to suck down is going to get old quickly.
It only gets bad gas mileage on the highway surprisingly! Thanks! Thanks Cool. It is my new daily, but most of the time the tire noise and things like that don't bother me. I only drive about 2-3 miles a day anyways on a normal day so gas mileage isn't too big of a deal. I'll keep a beater in mind though!
