My buddy called me yesterday and just bought this car. It's a 2000 RS with an AeroSim Research Ltd. widebody kit. About 10mm wider than a 22b. SWEET! Anyways he wants to do a full Version 7 swap in this car with my help. I told him the engine swap and JDM transmission swap will be easy. The hard part is the wiring. He has done a LS1 in RX7 before so he is familiar with engine harness splicing but can't find any concrete info on the RS stuff and Version 7 stuff. He has the version 7 engine harness and ECU. However will the 2000RS interior stuff and all still work? This beast will be getting a GT30R with a Tial midsized housing (is it .83 or .82???) and of course a Topspeed tune. It will be LOADED with suspension once said and done......I told him Matt Ball can get him set up on the suspension with JRZ goodies.
Well did Cicio tell you to call me? LOL you can answer the question I called about here....that way I don't 'mishear' you The wiring harness is the biggy here and has me scratching my head.
Yup. 100% stock which is gonna get pulled out soon as we get some info on the wiring. Oh and we DO NOT want to do anything regardling eastcoastswappers .
Negative or should I say.....Bryan really wants to do it himself since he has done it before on a LS1 swap in RX7. Basically I guess we need pinout diagrams for both 2000RS and a version 7 STi. I think this wiring will take longer than anything else.
can you post some more pics of the car. I would like to see some other angles to see the Widebody in all its goodness.
Not the actual car. But is the same kit so it give you idea of what it looks like. So look identical minus color (bet he will do silver or black) and rims. However he did say something about 9.5" or 10" Advans and knowing him he will get them. Not looking for all out power.....just a 4K power above 350hp and with a version 7 motor, 30R and Topspeed tune, I think it's doable with the right parts.
I should also mention it will definately be getting caged and stripped down for weight reduction. :ddirty:
Dumbass last time I checked post #10 comes before #11.:rofl::rofl::wiggle::wiggle::wiggle: Time to close WRXAtl for an entire weekend bc a mod called me a dumbass. :coolugh:
The pics in that post are BELOW. Above would be the pic in post #1. Now who's the dumbass? But I get your point.....I never said 'not actual' car. Who cares......it's a freaking widebody RS! With suspension and the right wheels this thing will handle on rails. I think Topspeed was at one point looking at this kit for Lucy....or the CF roof that that company makes.
I actually bought that kit when I was first building my subaru but never used it because it wasn't wide enough.
I believe the v7 STi stuff should just be the same wiring for any GD chassis. I believe the only thing they did was flip the dash harness for obvious reasons
