Well i can either re-clear the CF hood or spray it silver. Here are the two looks...chime in please. Options 1: As is- Options 2: Spray the hood silver
With the huge FMIC, I say re-clear the carbon. If the FMIC were black, I'd say go silver or RS hood in silver.
I do want to keep my hood CF. I also, posted up to see if anyone has a extra 02-03 hood so i can have a Silver hood with CF scoop and change it around when i want to.
^that looks like car has a mustache lol. I'll try JDM grill, but i like how stock grill looks on the car. Well that lip and CF spliter is history, fell victim to heavy rain last month :wtc:. I do plan on replacing it with exact same setup, but I can't spend $625 on lip again this soon lol. So as a temp setup i think i am going to put a JDM V1 Lip on the car or if i don't like that then Prodrive.
What brand hood is it anyway? If it is worth keeping, then you should re-clear it for resale value's sake. Then I would consider doing a gloss black roof and mirrors to boot. You may as well match your hood with a CF trunk and look into the Seibon carbon version of the WRX wing. Carbon front lip + carbon side skirts + carbon door handles/surrounds + carbon rear diffuser and you'll be set
^^^ Then it'll really look like a car built in a Need For Speed game. If you dont have the lip anymore throw a silver hood on there. If you want to keep the CF, throw silver stripes down the side contours of the hood, maybe with a silver scoop. I've seen very few cars with this look but they always look sharp. And that black grill would look terrible. . .
I've seen that. It looks great. Just put like, 1 light layer of silver, and let the weaves show through.
My opinion is to following the lines on the ends of the hood. Leave the middle CF and paint the outer edge silver. Leave the grille as is.
+1 for reclearing the carbon with the stripes of silver on either edge. That would look pretty cool. Anyone with photoshop skills that could make that?
Oh WRONG> ROFL If you don't like the idea of putting light layers of silver paint on the CF, I vouch to just re-clear it because it looks really good as is.
That would look HOT.....NOT. It is a VIS hood. I am also debating on satin clear on hood, and dry carbon CF splitter.
I am picking up some 3m CF wrap, lets see what the end result is lol. If i don't like, i can just take it right off.
