Alriight. So about a week ago I decided to remove the badges from the trunk so that I can paint them.
I did, with near little effort, having made sure my car was exposed to the sun, not that there's any way I can avoid that, and used floss to remove them.
After I removed it, I thought it looked pretty good, having gotten rid of the majority of the adhesive off of my trunk.
HOWEVER. Mazda decided it would be a FREAKING GREAT idea, to have the badges CLIP into the trunk, while being glued on to the trunk with ADHESIVE.

Have any of you guys ever come across this, and done anything about it? I know the majority of the Imprezas wouldn't because Subaru is just great like that, but if any one has come across something like this, helppp.
I was thinking of using the compound that is used for body repairs and applying it inside of the trunk lid behind the cover and then I guess painting the compound that is smoothed out to make it look flush.

The 2006+ Impreza badge/emblem on the trunk deck has the posts as well.

If you plan on keeping the car more than 3 weeks, I would not do the cheap ass bondo route. The proper way is to weld the holes, grind flush, body fill, prep and paint.

Put the badge back on unless you want to do it right and weld it on and repaint the trunk.

It would've been nice if I was notified of these replies in my email... Lulz.
Yeah. When I went up to Canton, Ben and Slade told me that using bondo/compound would just crack and/or fall out.
Considering getting it welded in... But I guess we'll have to see, depending on the price.
