Changed turbo set up to a ported and polished VF48 with Tial 44 EWG, Grimmspeed upipe and dumptube, and ported/polished oem stock exhaust manifold. Thanks Kokopelli for the turbo. Thanks Doug for getting me to the numbers I wanted to reach.
Nice man! Now what happened to your 43? Also, how much did the porting and polishing help with spool? Can't tell what RPM you are at on the dyno plot when you reach full boost. 4k?
Update The VF48 finally had it... TDO5 20G on its way and will be put in Tuesday. Topspeed tune first week of July.
I'm going to be very very gentle. Yes spool-ability. The ~500 RPM spool difference between the two makes me lean towards the TD05.
Turbo installed and ecu re-flashed with a map by Clark Turner Tuning. First impressions: WOW! Big difference from my previous turbo. Gonna do some data logging so he can really tweak the map.
Got retuned by Doug today. Gonna have to figure out what's causing Doug to have to set the timing oddly low.
No but we are speculating the heads/valves may be the issue...I'm just gonna drive it for a while as is and eventually swap a built setup.
My stock EJ205 had the EXACT same issue. Getting the motor drunk fixed that issue. When I built the engine you could notice where the hotspots were due to some burrs so I sanded those burrs down and the timing was spot on according to Doug when he tuned me on pump.
