We are heading to the strip tonight to get a few runs in with the coupe. Anybody else want to go? It has been a long time since we have done a drag strip meet.
Hmmm. Both weigh about the same. Yours makes a lil more power. But the power to weight ratio is not in your favor compared to Matt.:rofl::rofl: I keed I keed.
shring's probably got a couple dead hookers in the back, though Mike / Rick, what times you hoping for? You going up to commerce or down to AMS?
I'm on my way out to head up there. I've got a bit of a drive to get there if you see me stop by and say hi. I'm in the red 97 legacy with a big tuneratlanta.com decal on the side
good night, but we still have some dialing in to do on the launch control and tire pressure and probably a few more things that escape me now. Started the night out with the launch control set too low and no cable to change it...brought enough tools to disassemble the car but forgot the cable to flash. Out of 5 runs the best we could manage was 13.012. Ran into a guy Trey and he had the cable we needed so we raised up the rev limit and had time for 2 more runs, the first of which missed 3rd... Took her out one last time had a good launch (although too much wheel spin) cut a 1.79 60ft, trapped 121.69 @ 11.997. I think if we get everything dialed and shave a little weight she could get well into the 10's. She weighed in @ 2760 with 1/4 tank of gas...
The ppg 5mt will be going in the coupe soon. Once we do that and the recaro seats are mounted the coupe should be real close to 2600 lbs.
we didn't have the fastest run on video but Koko did manage a 12.8 skipping 3rd. lol Sanders was running nicely in the new evo...I think his best of the night was 12.2.
I didn't miss third on the 12.8 run . It was the 13.0 run where i missed 3rd and instead of trying to find it I just went to 4th. Its a shame too because on that run my 60'ft was a 1.85. On the 12.8 run it was a 2.08.
you're right I just found the slip. So that was before we raised the revs then. I wish we had that last run on vid as the launch was an absolute thrill!!!
Good job guys. It'll take a few runs to dial that car in. How bad is the wheel spin on the launch on street tires?
not quite enough before we raised the LC and a tad too much after. I am thinking back it down just a tad and start lowering tire pressure until we get the hook we desire. Started with max pressure on the re01r. too much time inbetween runs at commerce really sucks for dialing something in especially when I ruined the first 2 runs cause I coudnt get it in 2nd.
sounds like you need to dump that dampener on the clutch cylinder, did you ever get that taken care of? I not it's an easy fix.
Just having a little fun here but let me make this comment.......keep the AP cable unplugged while you are driving this one And learn from me....don't answer the phone if it rings while driving.....
haha. I found my cable in the jesus chysler yesterday. Apparently I drank too much sweet tea last weekend and tried to tune the town and country.
