TopSpeed Motorsports - 370z Nismo GTM Twin Turbo Results

Discussion in 'Off-Topic' started by Cicio@TopSpeed, Oct 27, 2010.

  1. So I am not sure if you guys know, but a couple of months ago TopSpeed purchased a new car to play with....A 2010 370z Nismo!! I just wanted to share some results of this GTM turbo kit after a session with Doug on the dyno :)

The first graph was done at WG pressure which is 6-7psi, the second was at 11.5psi. Both were done on 93oct pump gas.

We were actually going to turn it up a little more, but turns out the stock clutch doesn't like any more than 450 ft lbs of torque :D

This car feels absolutely awesome on the street, and is a blast to drive.

    Enjoy

Give me my STAGE II TURBOS

This thing is a beast, driving it around town its as docile as a stock 370z, but when you put your foot to it the car pulls and it feels like a big V8. As you can see in the graph the torque curve is pretty flat.

Its a great looking car and the GTM turbo kit fits amazingly well. GTM really puts out a quality product.

hows the shortblock in the 370's? Whats their limit?

  6. I will let you know when we blow it up :)

I would like to put a clutch in it and turn it up to around 600whp just to see how long it lasts LOL

What is the compression ratio on these motors? So this is a stock long block with a bolt on turbo kit?

  9. Yes its totally stock block, clutch, tranny! They are 11.5:1 stock :)

So is this kit more or less than $10,000 installed??

  11. About that.

The good think about the GTM kit is that they use Garrett BB turbos instead of journal bearing stuff. With the problems the 370z has with oil temps thats a very big deal.

    Plus the quality is awesome!

They're even better when properly installed without the use of a hammer and bailing wire.

Sorry but if I pay $19K for a motor build by God there better not not be charge pipes hammered to fit and and freaking bailing wire holding hoses together.

I thought it was the downpipe that was hammered?

Very nice kit. The pc'd pipes really make it stealthy. At a glance it all looks stock.

well shit if the pipes dont fit i would hammer them to just get everything working and get it on the car to see how it drives. Its not like you can go and get another charge pipe or dp bent in 30min. If its affecting performance or very noticeable and unsightly then i would worry about fixing it later and contact the vendor and see what they can do to take care of it.

Nothing wrong with alittle on the spot engineering to get some numbers.

Ok guys lets drop the stupid hammering pipes and other crap and talk about how awesome this car is putting power down.

Sheesh enough is enough....else this will be yet another locked thread.

Are there any additional plans for the car?

Sounds like they want to push the envelope and see what stock can hold. Then perhaps a built block bc I know those guys too well for them to throw stock back in.

I would imagine so. I was just curious, because, well it isn't always just about making the numbers :)

Car looks great. Glad it found a new home, where it can stretch it's legs.
