    I've organized a run for Saturday November 6th 2010.

I figured I would post it here and anyone who wants to ride is more then welcome to join. I would love to see some other Subarus show up besides myself.

We are running the Blood Mountain rout, so it should be a blast.

Any questions, feel free to ask.

    Saturday November 6th, 2010

    The meet spot will be
The Kroger off exit 14 on 575
    Address; 4045 Marietta Highway
    Canton, GA 30114

Meeting time will be 0900, wheels up will be 0930 if your late sorry sucks to be you.

I wanted to let everyone know the following rules to keep in mind if you are joining us for our mountain run.

    - A personal friend of mine is leading the way. He has picked the route and is familiar with the roads. He is a very experienced drive, so if he slows down around a bend, or signals to take it slow then its best to listen.
    - Every car is REQUIRED to have some means of communication with the other vehicles. I will be bringing a walkie-talkie (one of the long range Cobra ones). Its best to have one of these in your car so you can get instant updates about road conditions ahead.
    - Remember that we will be on narrow and twisting mountain roads. There is almost ZERO room for error. If you drive reckless or stupid, you run a strong risk of killing yourself, other drivers, or even innocent third parties that are passing by. By all means, have some fun - just don't be reckless.
    - If we come up on slower traffic, don't tailgate, honk, flash lights, rev, or anything else to try and get them out of the way. Once its safe, just kindly pass them.
    - Don't act like an idiot. Tuner cars already have a bad image in the public eye, please do not add to this.
    - DO NOT drive past your abilities or comfort. If you push your limits, you will wind up wrecking.
    - DO NOT pass through corners. Only pass when it is safe to do so.
I would like to add, I will be coming off shift and I will not be in the mood to deal with stupidity, I would like to add These are public roads, If you choose to drive like an ass hat that is your decision and I will not help, fix, call you a tow truck, provide medical care, or in any way have further interaction with you following your moment of stupidity.

There are many great spots to take pictures, and this has a lot of scenic driving, this is not a race this is a sunday ( err. Saturday) drive. We will be stopping in down town Jasper, on the 136 overlook, and the plan is to eat in down town Dahlonega, there are a lot of really nice/decently priced restaurants. ( or we could just do Mcdonalds).
I wanted to let everyone know the following rules to keep in mind if you are joining us for our mountain run.

wow not one person has shown any interest?

I thought this would be the place to pick up some people to ride!

  3. Ive tried in the past to set up runs on these boards and its hard to get anything together. If you're looking for people to run with in the mountains check out 4touge.com. Theres a lot of members from here that post up over there.

already checked out 4touge. still awaiting my account to be activated. a few different members have told me you have to be known by some of them and be on a few of their runs before they let you on the boards.

as far as organizing a run, I've already got people going and its going to be a fairly good turn out. I would just love if there are more Subarus there besides myself.

  5. yes you have to be "touge approved" before you can use most of the forums. PM Jason or Dana(SPARTA) to find out when the next run is. I believe its the 21st.

Yeah, I've run across a few members. I kind of have my foot in the door. Just have to wait for one of their runs.

Most people on this board only ride with people they trust. Too many 'tards out there. ;)

i saw you're heading up there tomorrow morning. definitely remember it is going to be cold as shit and many places got moisture/rain. I saw a little snow falling in Tennessee. best to be cautious. Good luck though and keep it safe

Yeah I've been keeping a close eye on the weather.

Its suppose to be raining up there right about now, but not too much rain. It won't drop below freezing until 3am and will be back up above freezing at sunrise. from there its going to be sunny and clear getting up to 50 degrees.

Thanks for the update. I haven't seen anything about snow on weather.com up there, but I'll defiantly be careful when I go.

Someone showed up at the meet spot this morning in a Blue WRX wagon sitting on factory wheels....with a black 4touge sticker close to the mirrors on each door.....I talked to him for a minute but I can't remember for the life of me what his name was.....I'm terrible with names.

He didn't ride though. Said he had things to do. Just kinda showed up and said hi....and warned that there was a bit of ice up there.....then left.

There was a little bit of ice on one bridge we crossed. Other then that, everything had already melted by the time we got up there. There as a little bit of snow (not enough to fully cover the ground) in a few spots up high in the mountains that were in the shade....
