A recent issue has popped up where it sounds like there is a belt slipping in the engine bay when i am trying to turn the wheel when i am not moving(its a light squeeking/chirping). The steering also becomes kind of notchy and looses its smoothness. Any body know whats going on?

sounds like power steering. Check the belt and fluid level.

Would the squeaking have anything to do with the power steering fluid level?

sounds like a cold belt. its probably tightened up with the cold weather. that or its on its way out. either way, dont over tighten it.

Be sure to inspect both belts with a flash light to see whether or not the rubber is beginning to break down and crack. You usually want to give them a good look every 30k or so, and replace every 60k-ish.

Well i actually had all new belts and pulleys installed about 3k miles ago.

Anyways the belt was alittle loose. My shop said new belts will loosen up, to the point that they need to be retightened sometimes. All is good now, thanks guys.
