Was there a certain magnaflow muffler that sounds the best on the car? I was looking at their site and there are like a million of them. lol.
Main thing will be correct size pipe. But from there, look at the length and size of the mufflers. What size turbo back is on there now?
Right now nothing. Stock downpipe going to a sti catback. It's weird because when I look under the car I don't see a cat at all. the downpipe connects to the catback but there is no cat.
you want more power why not upgrade the turbo (vf39,18g,20g) and just tbe since the uppipe is already catless? should net you between 300-350 whp
I was doing a little research on the 18g and 20g and I don't really think the 18g is worth it. I would go 20G or bigger. I read a few posts that have people saying that the 20g can get faster than stock spool (with the right tune) and pulls hard all the way to redline. I really like this idea as it sounds like a good setup for the street and some track days.
Stop by TopSpeed and talk to Doug and Nathan. Doug has tuned quite a few of the Blouch 20GXT Turbos. They are probably my favorite bolt on stock location turbo.
For a really fun street car do this on 06 WRX..... turbo back exhaust STi turbo (not the VF39 but vf43..that right 43?) bigger injectors bigger fuel pump e85 Topspeed Tune BAM 350-375 hp 425-475 tq.
yep. no stations close to gainesville. you could do what i do assuming you have a place to store the stuff. have a number of 15 and 20 gallon HDPE drums. 15 gallons of e85 is heavy. any more is too heavy. Since the station is 10 miles from my house, i get 30 to 40 gallons at a time. i have around 100 gallons of total storage though. if i lived that far from a station i would probably still use the stuff by refill in 50 to 100 gallon segments. i've been quite pleased with e85. i keep meaning to run empty and run 93 for a segment but e85 is just too much fun. dunno what the size of your motor is. 2.0l i would go blouch 16xt (i have evoIII 16g which is no longer made). if my trans was up to it i would try an 18g or similar, perhaps 20g. but by that time a new tran and then a built 2.5 would be on the to do list.
Funny thing; I received a text earlier today from one of my customers asking if I knew anyone looking to buy a used 20GXT. He tells me the turbo has no shaft play, and is currently set to wastegate pressure as he is still running his break-in tune. Currently 3000 miles on the turbo, he is the original owner and can provide a receipt.
any one else feel like we've given the OP more than the necessary tools to figure out what he wants? I feel like he thinks he's immune to the the rule... cheap, fast, reliable Pick two Dude, you know the answers, do the research. /thread
I have pretty much figured out what I want to do at this point. I appreciate all the help you guys have given me. Trust me when I say that I don't think I am immune and I have been doing a lot of research.
