I am officially moved into the new crib. I knew going in that I wanted an epoxy floor and NOT the water based crap that is sold at all the usual stores, Home Depot, Lowes, Sherwin Williams, etc...ALL WATER BASED CRAP.

I had probably 10 quotes ranging from $1400 (No diamond grinding and sub-par products) and upwards of $2200 (for the good stuff). At this point my cheap ass was about to settle on the crappy water based DIY, until I found Marty Lauderdale with Gladiator Epoxy Flooring.

Marty had installed floorings for Lowe's (IIRC) for 15+ yrs and knows his shit! Marty was a pleasure to work with and understands that these are tough economic times. We discussed the appoximate prices that others were quoting and how they would not budge. Marty was an upfront guy and said Mr. techlord (lol) it appears that you don't want to spend more than a grand, which I didn't. He said he would do the floor for a grand that day. The only problem was I was moving in and the garage was the staging area...I asked for 24hrs to get it cleared. He said he was about to dip on out to vacation, he looked forward to doing business with me. He said, "I will be back on the 10th of January, feel free to get all the quotes you want as no one will beat MY price for 600 sq ft of garage flooring." HE WAS RIGHT!

Marty showed up yesterday ON TIME. He diamond grinded the entire floor surface patching any cracks and imperfections. He applied an epoxy based primer, came back today and laid the actual epoxy coat that matched the house (tan with chocolate chips). He will return tomorrow to apply the final clear coat. When all is said and done it will be almost 30mils thick and wont FAIL.
I will get better pictures once I can have better access. It was taken from my kitchen as it is not ready for traffic.
No pics of the diamond grind or epoxy primer cause I had to work...

I highly recommend Marty and Gladiator Epoxy Flooring!
He knows his stuff and more importantly is willing to work with the customer to get them a floor which NO OTHER COMPANY WOULD EVEN CONSIDER.

EDIT: Forgot to mention I priced out the "good stuff" and materials alone were over $600. He wasn't making much but as he said, "300 bucks is better than no bucks".

He asked I spread the word for the great price he gave and I am doing exactly that. Very stand up guy and my wife loved the ol geezer...Of all the service companies that have been to the house over the past 20 days he was the ONLY person she felt comfortable leaving the house with.
THIS IS SAYING A LOT ABOUT HIS CARACTER, TRUST ME!

All the drywall is up in the garage as of today and the next step is the floor.

I'll be giving this guy a call tomorrow.

Its a very nice garage indeed. It can easily hold three cars and the ceiling is plenty high for a lift.

So its about $1 per sq foot in materials + $300-500 in labor. My garage has a bit more floor space, that's why Im asking.

Very nice. My father-in-law in NY just got his done with lift for his C6 Z06. Surprised how cheap it was overall. He copied another on a forum somewhere. I love the flush lift and his is nearly identical to this one (diff colored tiling).

We just laid out my 3 car garage plans and I will be doing the same with lift in one bay.

Tile is very strong if done right (until you drop a blunt object on it hard but you can replace the one tile) but it doesn't beat a nice epoxied floor done right.....looks very slick and clean Rick. I like it!

I'll find out. IIRC it was $2000 shipped.

    Pretty sweet lift isn't?

Confirmed $2000 shipped to Rochester and in law came to terminal and picked up. Funny this thing is plastered everywhere.....saw on m3 forum just a sec ago. He found in a woodworking forum (he loves wood working).

Self install isn't hard. Read up on concrete barrier and rebar placement.

I was just about to ask you for pictures with your car in it...
Now I can see, it's a HUGE garage. When it's empty, it's a little difficult to put it into perspective.
