2003 WRX: Catless up, Catless 3" Turbo back, Cobb Accessport stage 2 93 oct Ok first off I've searched to my fullest extent and found only topics on testing your bcs, cleaning it, replacing it etc etc. So try not to flame too hard if I happened to miss the magic thread with all my answers. I have come to the conclusion that the electrical plug going into the bcs isn't getting any power. At first I thought it was the BCS itself, but I've gone through two and cant seem to build boost over 10psi. I made the same amount of psi before I flashed the stage 2 map, so the BCS has to be the problem. So what is the next step if my harness has no power? Is there a BCS fuse?? Any help is greatly appreciated, Griffin
Hmm I guess I'd start by checking all the fuses, then looks at the harness to see if any wires are jacked up, then make sure all of the metal contacts inside the BCS and the plug that plugs into the BCS are where they need to be
What kind of BCS is it? I've seen a Grimmspeed that you could pull one of the wires out of the connector.
its an oem bcs for the 03. I have also tried using an OEM 04 Sti BCS and got the same results. I guess once I get back to the garage i will cut into the wires going into the plug to see if it is just the plug that isn't getting power.
If you ahve a boost gauge, pull off the vacuum/boost line going to the wastegate actuator. Drive your car and see if you can build more than 10psi of boost. Be careful and watch the boost because if it is working correctly, it will just keep building boost. As soon as you see it go past the 10psi, get off the throttle, pull over, and put the line back on. If it never gets past the 10psi, it is most likely the actuator and not the bcs.
