I need some free video software that will allow me to simply take videos and split them into segments. No fancy additions or such. I can't find anything that works well and is free and easy to work with.

    Suggestions?

hmm. dunno what to tell you then. I've never done anything with videos before. Now if you wanted free image editing - GIMP would be the way to go

Ffmpeg is a command line util. It is THE best open source media modification app there is. I work with media all day :)

    Never. Ever.
WMM is the biggest POS in the world. WMM makes me want to throw my fucking monitor out of the window.
And then smash up my PC. And then stomp all over my keyboard and mouse.

Oh don't worry. You're not the only one.
It freezes up on everyone in the world.

I have one. Just need to split it up in segments because youtube will only allow 10 min videos.
