I decided that for my first "mod" im going to go with the Invidia N1 race because it is cheap, effective, loud, and also because i think im still young enough to run one of these fart cans

i don't have a lift so i can't install it myself. so i was wondering if you guys had any suggestions on somewhere i can get a quality install for cheap?

how cheap are u talking? i'm sure any old muffler shop can throw it on for like 50-60 bucks.

yea that sounds pretty good. or it would be nice if someone with a lift and some spare time reading this would like to help a brother out for a couple bucks, or a meal :sx:

Lol i have no tools what so ever. i have a ratchet set, but my dad lost the RATCHET so the set is rendered pretty much useless.

Go to Walmart or Lowes or Home Dept and buy the sized ratchet you need for a few bucks. Use the stock jack and lift up the rear of the car and set it down on some wood blocks or something sturdy (not those cement blocks with holes in them as they can collapse) Make sure the car is in gear and the ebrake is pulled. Crawl under the car and get dirty. It's really easy to install and very self explanatory.

It's much more rewarding working on your own car.

Harbor Freight is your friend. Especially since you live in Duluth. You can get stands and all the tools you need cheap there.

When's your birthday? I see you asking for a small craftsman set in your future.

All you need is four jack stands, a proper jack, a 3/8" ratchet, a 14mm socket, a 14mm box wrench and pb plaster. You may also need a twelve, as I don't recall whats on the ol spring bolts.

  18. +1 for pb blaster. It will make your life so much easier and probably save you some busted knuckles.

i thought my car was supposed to come with a jack. so i checked where the spare tire is and there is the shape of the tools and an empty little bag that says subaru on it.
    someone stole my jack?

i was thinking about getting some of those wedge lifts lol

Check behind the trunk liner on the driver's side, right behind the tail light. While they jack tools live in that sad little bag, the sad little jack lives in its own sad little compartment.

Yeah, I think it's just tow stuff and the world's most useless lug wrench.

Just remember to chalk the wheels if you're going to put the car on ramps. Local S2000 owner died last year when the car rolled back down the ramps.

i remember when i first got my car i was afraid to do anything on it myself... I still dont trust myself on most of the things :) but you gotta start somewhere and i wish i knew back then just how easy it was for me to change the axle-back hahaha. find a thorough DIY and some tools you should be good to go

That's pretty gruesome... And really scary...
I was underneath my car for a good minute trying to put back the gravel protective plastic POS.
