    Hey

How can I safely remove Duplicolor lens tint without damaging the lens on my tail lights.

Awhile back, I tinted the whole tail light, and I want to go with something like this now (top normal, bottom tinted)

Buy new lights? Sand down the current paint?

I'm sure using any chemical will damage the lights.

Sanding will leave a rough look to the lights. I would still like them to have a shine.

What about sanding and putting a light coat of clear coat paint over them?

Sand them down and use plastic polish...?

That's what I'd suggest. You could wetsand the lights, starting with a fine grit and moving towards a lower grit only if necessary...try starting at 2000 and working your way down to 1000 then 600, etc. Once you remove the old paint, reverse the wet-sanding process and bring it back up to 2000. Once this is complete, I'd hit them with an orbital and an extremely fine polish.
