Bad Rear Diff or Ebrake system?

Well, I finally had the chance to jack up my 05' STi on 4 jack stands. I rotated one wheel(rotated foward and backwards) at a time without being on full lock. I started with the front driver side and the passenger side rotated the opposite way. Then did the rear driver side and the passenger side rear rotated the opposite but I did notice a slight drag and having to use slightly more force to turn the wheel(ebrakes need adjusting????). BTW, ebrake was all the way down and disengaged inside.

Now, when I do a full lock (50/50), I turned the front driver side and all the wheels turn but all wheels didn't engage(start turning or had a lag when it came to turning). Guess it the LSD has to transfer the power throughout and tolerances aren't perfect(BTW it did this also when it wasn't on full lock). If that makes any sense. I did the front passenger side and it was the same, all wheels turned. Then proceeded with the rear passenger side and same thing, all wheels turned but used a bit more strength to turn it. Lastly but it may be problematic, when I turned the rear driver side wheel, all of them turned except for the rear passenger side wheel.

Could it be a bad rear diff or ebrakes need to be adjusted/replaced(I"m guessing the ebrakes have never been replaced 150,000 miles on it now)?

The main reason I did this test was b/c my car was pulling slightly to the right when I accelerated from 60mph at 5th gear and 6th gear. No noises coming from the tranny besides the normal gearing noise. Well, a couple of places, including a subaru dealership suggested it was a bad set of tires. Mind you, I've replaced all four tires and it's been through a those two places for alignments several times. They checked and triple checked all the bushings, bolts, etc....and could not find anything wrong. At one point they thought it was the crowning of the road. I called Bull honky b/c my wife's forester drives fine on the same exact road and same speed when accelerating. Well, since insurance didn't want to pay for anything after a 14 week debacle, I decided to take things in my own hand. Started replacing the bushings in the rear end and steering rack bushings. Double checked all torque specs. Changed out the springs and checked the shocks for leaks. I even tried bouncing on the front and back of the car. Looks like some of the shocks were replaced but the car didn't bounce that much.

Any help would really be appreciated. Been working on this for the past year. Pain in the neck so far.

  2. Are you holding the steering wheel when accelerating?

Yes, holding the steering wheel wheel when doing this and holding it hard and straight square. Still pulls.

Nothing I can see. Nor did the collision center or the dealer could find. Both places had it for a total of 14 weeks. :(

Checked all the nuts and bolts for torque settings. Sway bars, end links look good.
