on my email update, i did a quick glance and read "EXCREMENT ensues!" carry on. have fun at the fury meet tonight, cant wait to see pics!
So jealous of this. It excites me more than any of the other pieces. If I didn't just put myself on a budget..
I'll cut you a super duper WRXAtlanta Supporting Member deal if you're seriously interested Yesss...I just need to put the "Get More Gs" skull on his tail!
Shame I know a guy that I was just talking to that is developing carbon mud flaps and needs some test cars :hs:
Let me get in touch with him and see what all models he will need and what kind of deal he will give to "test subjects"
I am not sure if my Nikon needs to go in for servicing or what -- I've been having some color calibration issues lately. Maybe Jeff (crazyazn) can take a look at it for me. It could certainly use a servicing. I've got one more product shoot to finalize and then I guess I'll box the camera up and ship it out to Nikon. Genuine Alcantara gauge cluster hood, steering wheel and shift boot. The hood and boot are made from color code 9052, "Steel Grey", whereas the steering wheel is made from color code 9002, "Charcoal Grey".
True, especially if my buddy buys his milling machine! Right now I am debating what I want to do roof-rack wise. I'm still thinking about going with the Whispbar setup. Pricing seems on par with Yakima and Thule, however, the Whispbar product is extremely quiet in comparison between the three.
Installed the RA v2 mudflaps this evening. Love the look, but the fitment in the rear is a bit funky. Is it normal for them to have a bit of a wave to them as they hug the rear fender liner? All of the photos on their website appear to have them looking flat, but perhaps thats v1 versus v2? Educate me! I took a few photos un-boxing them, etc, as I know there are not many of us locally running them. Overall I am impressed with the product and the packaging. They definitely over-padded the brackets to make sure that they did not become damaged in inventory and shipping. I'll try and get the other photos and a proper review up tomorrow provided I have the time.
And that is how they installed correct? I was hoping they would sit more flush, but they basically follow the curvature of the rear fender liner. Also, I forgot to put it in my post above, but I ordered these from RallySport Direct. AWESOME sales support and an all around great group of guys over there. I placed an order around 11PM EST (they're open till 12PM MST) and they were ready to ship the next morning via UPS. I would highly recommend them for any parts that the local shops may not have in stock. http://www.rallysportdirect.com/ 888.45.RALLY
oh woops, i read that wrong. I meant mine have curved in a 'u' like shape from wind if you view mine from the top in a profile manner. I'll go out and check to see how they line up with the liner
heres how they sit on my car in the back: rally_armor01 by thelucid1, on Flickr[/IMG] rally_armor02 by thelucid1, on Flickr
My rear fender liner is significantly more rounded than yours. Let me go snap a flashlight + cell phone photo
I will be at the event this weekend at AllPro and the install day in April at AllPro. See ya there! :wavey:
Oh hrm, that sure is a lot more curve. Though I think its kinda odd that started to get wavey. Edit: Are those new types not as flexible?
Mine definitely don't do that, they look more like Jeff's. What mounting method did you use in the rear?
Oh, maybe they changed it for v2. for the v1 flaps, you had two options for mounting the flaps. One used brackets, the other just involved drilling into your body. I think people saw the drilling method as more stable.
I took a few photos today as well as loosened the three attachment screws in the rear. It helped, marginally at best. I would not be crying over spilt milk here if the flaps had a matte finish. Instead, RA went through the effort to give them a highly reflective finish. As a result, I would like the reflection on the rear of the flaps to not appear distorted as shown in the photos below. Anyways...I think I've decided on the VG Shark Fin style antenna. I was sold on it after looking through a number of members journals. I hope those OPs don't mind me re-posting some of their photos.
Alex it looks like the bracket may be sunk in too much hence the mudflaps being bent. That does look bad.
