Anyone here running 235/45/17 on 17x8's? (preferably STI BBS stockers)

Thinking of doing the jump from the stock 225/45 to 235/45. I've seen a few pics over at nasioc and been comparing diameters and widths on tirerack but every little bit helps.

    Thoughts, opinions? :wiggle:

i ran 255/40/17 on stock wheels, and they were AD07 Neovas, which are generally a little wider than a standard same sized tire

I've put 245's on 7.5" and 8". neither bbs stockers though.
you talking for your rst or sti?
I have 2 rsti's and both run 245's offset in this case will make the difference if rubbing is a concern.

    I would skip the 235 45 and go straight to 245 40.

oh, fwiw, mine didn't scrub until i put 285/35/18 AD07s on. No fender work done, standard alignment w/ camber

I had 245/40's on my BBS's before I got rid of them. I didnt have any rubbing issues at and and my car is lowered.

Just curious, besides gearing....why run that wide of a tire on that thin of a rim? Ive found its heavier, slower, and more expensive to balloon a tire onto a rim rather then the correct sized tire that supports a proper sidewall profile.

I used to think "put as big of tire as possible on the wheel", but after quite frankly alot of online research it seem if anything all you are doing is hurting your performance and your wallet.(unless its an auto-x car and you are trying to scavenge some gearing) I would say that ive seen personal results differ favorably towards a non ballooned tire as well, but i changed to much as a driver to put any real merit behind my findings.

car isnt lowered..235 45's on stockers look better than stock..245 or 255 40's would be my choice next time though and its about the same price

depends on your preference. I chose 255s for track tires, 225 or 235 for DD tires (two sets of wheels helped). Track times speak for them self, though it's not fair comparing a track setup w/ a street setup

Thanx for the pics, I'm leaning more towards the 235/45 since it's strictly for DD and some spirited mountain runs. I'm just looking for a bit more tire but a vertical sidewall at the same time. Any local place that can beat tireracks $99 per tire for hankookVentus V12 evo K110?
