ok i`ve been searching everywhere for a walkthrough on the d-specs but no luck... will anyone help me out on the install day for lunch or a drink? I dont have many tools either...
i think its just the swap... for the insert is the koni? not 100% sure.. mine is the whole strut assembly.
You took them to hooters? Make sure you have an alignment scheduled relatively soon after the install.
Has anyone read the temporary construction signs going up 400N? I was on my way to work this morning (I get on at Northridge) and saw one that said "Traffic Pacing 4/10/2011". Not sure what time though, might affect travel to the Install Day
Yo guys. quick question before the meet. How would I run with a after market inlet before tune? The stock one on mine looks torn up. And question to allpro, do you guys have any good brand inlets that you guys have for sale, before i call other shops? And of course, i would need someone to install it for me(help me). Never did one and no idea what to do. <.< Edit: Thanks to Patrick, once again, he pulls through for me.
Was talking to the Mrs. about plans for Saturday, and I've decided I'll definitely be there. If I don't get around to doing them before Saturday, I may try to put on some valve cover gaskets while I'm there. I won't need any lift time. Look forward to seeing and meeting everyone.
 ALCOHOL: not permitted. However, if it's in a water bottle or something else that you can't see the color of the liquid, we can't say anything.
I'm retarded. For some reason I was thinking the 10th is Saturday. Derrrrrrrrr. However, that just made my night! Sunday is even better... I can still meet up with you all, the wife can come hang, and I can still get drunk all day Saturday! WOOHOO!
I don't mind helping you out. Look for my car (pic below) As well, is someone willing to help me diagnose my sound system interference (possible ground noise) and get my boost gauge working correctly?
By "hang" does that mean she'll be wrenching with the rest of us? I'll be up there at 10 to be the first on the lift..
I need to replace my timing belt idler tensioner pulley as it's whining. Also gonna go ahead and replace a couple of belts that are starting to crack. Any help with the tensioner pulley would be appreciated. :wiggle:
you're right it's not the same, but you have to bear in mind that we are borrowing a companies parking lot and time so we have to play by their rules.
My boss is retarded. I wrote on the calander several weeks ago that I need Sunday off and even told her about it....but she scheduled me anyways. I got it worked out though...I swapped shifts with someone so I can be there on Sunday. Sent from my Android powered HTC HD2
I'm no expert in car audio or gauges, but as an engineer, I'm confident I can fix anything ('specially if it ain't broke ). No promises, but I'd be happy to take a peek. I'll bring along a basic set of electrical implements of destruction. Have you tried a ground-loop isolator ($10-20 at radioshack)? Kind of a patch repair but they work pretty well sometimes when whine just won't go away and rewiring everything to ensure proper distance between signal and power lines, or if absolutely necessary, right-angle crossings, would be just too much to do...
Awesome thanks. Electrical is not one of my strong points lol Ill try and get my hands on an isolator before sunday. However the gauge is my biggest concern Sent from my Android powered HTC HD2
Didn't mean my comment as a complaint. Hell, I'm glad someone is actually stepping up and bringing the community together.
Because I like to keep an eye on everything. Ive been thinking about it and i think the boost gauge is causing the radio problrms. Rverything is wired to behind the deck Sent from my Android powered HTC HD2
hahahaha. I'm about to go outside and disconnect the connections on the back of the boost gauge to see if that helps anything. I would love it if I figured out all this shit BEFORE Sunday lol
John sounds like a grounding issue.... If can't find the problem before Sunday I will take a look at it.
I'll be taking out my seats (again!) tomorrow to try playing with the wiring some more. If I don't figure it out, I'll just leave the seats out so everything is easy to get to Sunday.
FYI!! This is an install day, not a day that you can get routine maintenance done on the cheap through the shop directly. If you need to do maintenance, please schedule an appointment during our regular business hours!
Well I have one thing knocked off of my to do list. Boost gauge is working correctly now. I unplugged it and plugged it back in and it worked right???? wtf lol sound system is fixed now too woo hoo
But, if I wanted to change my own oil, diff fluid or timing belt, without the help of the shop...I could and that wouldn't be a problem? Just trying to clarify.
@Allpro - I might buy a timing gear from you and put it on Sunday. My friend is coming along, and he needs that BD gauge cluster that I talked to Brandon on the phone about. We will install that Sunday as well. On a side note - will anyone be bringing a magnetic camber gauge with them? I'm kind of curious how much ridiculous negate camber I'm running on the rear to prevent tires from scrubbing lol
Hey patrick. About the oil change, mine is out of date. Since you guys are kinda out of my way, is it possible to make an appointment for the Sunday for oil change? Of course, I will be paying full price as if it was every other business day.
This would be nice to know as I'm putting on my new Epic Springs, and it'd be nice to do a quick camber adjustment before leaving...
Eyeball it if nobody has a camber gauge. I eyeballed my old cars camber when I did my suspension swap and had a .3 split. Not bad for an eyeball alignment if you ask me lol
Going to get an alignment after...but not immediately. Brandon recommended waiting a weekish to let everything settle in.
