For some reason the AST 4100's just dont seem to be a go to source for a quality mid range coilover in the subaru community. Can anyone chime in as to why? Ive read reviews from people who have driven on or switched from Bilstein PSS series, Moton's, and Ohlins to the AST4100 and have nothing but great things to say about them(most of the reviews are from Euro group though e46 m3's, audi's, etc..)

Go AST and save yourself some money, plus the AST's last longer between rebuilds and i believe are cheaper to rebuild as well. I currently have a set of AST's/whiteline's, love them but i have 0 direct experience with the T2's/kw's. The only other coilovers i have to compare to direct are Cuco Zero2 E's, JIC FLT A-2's, and a Koni/GC set-up, and these AST's feel better in every aspect. I wish I/WE had quantitative numbers that would could use to compare and contrast coilovers. I have one and thats the cheaper MSRP of the AST's compared to KW/T2's(group buy on nasioc for AST's at $1600 shipped.).

I'd give AST a shot. Those are my choice for the GR should I ever upgrade. The TIC variant always has excellent reviews. Another alternative is the "FEAL" suspension setup where they will create custom valving for your stock struts.

IMO...it all depends on what you are using the car for/going to use. If it's mostly a dd and you want to go the co route than BC BR series (for the money) is good enough.

As slowwrx said t2s are a great choice.

You can spend all the money in the world on these awesome setups, but if you are just going to DD on them, it will be a waste of money IMHO.

BC's if you are just going to be DD the car and not racing or tracking the car. Be honest with yourself...I told myself I would track my car and my car hasn't seen a road course once. Wanting and doing(fitting into your schedule) are two different things and although I want to, I will probably not see a track anytime soon unless I win the lottery or get whatever job slowrx has.

I think that price on the ASTs is without springs. The KWs and the RCE T2s with the soft springs have the best ride of any coilover I've ever had on a Subaru.

Not sure if you've seen my car lately, but those drawings don't exactly pay the bills.

I've got t2's, and love them, they are pretty comfy for coilovers, I still take a beating on howell mill and marietta st. though I think any coilover it would be rough over there. I also agree that the pricing is stiff compared to the bc's and all, but I'd like to think they're of a bit more quality, also the T2's are probably fairly effective on track. I just had life get in the way of me signing up for track events.
