Recently, I noticed that after switching to Costco Gas, I have gained almost 30 miles a tank. Now, I'm not sure if the blend has switched or ethanol levels changed, or what...but I am now getting right up to 300 miles a tank. I have not changed my driving style, mods or tune in a minute. All I know, before Costco, I would only see around 270 miles from a tank if I was lucky. So I am curious, without going into a mod or tune debate...what do you get per tank. I know there are some freaks out there like Megadeth that get almost 350 a tank. Oh, I only care about Subarus...not a certain Mazda 3. Please use this format when posting, I will be compiling a spreadsheet: Car: 2004 WRX Wagon (15.9 gal tank) Gas: Costco Mileage: ~300 miles a tank. Avg: 18.87
I always used QT w/ my STi (when stage 2), averaged 22-24 a tank, got 387 miles out of one tank on the way to Augusta. I averaged 300-330 a tank, though edit - I drove slower than cohen, though. The only people who really drove my car were Ball, Justin and Brett
I dont stick to a particular brand, i did research a while back and which ones to avoid...and ive since forgotten.
wasnt it matt that said there are really only 4-5 manufacturers of gas in the US. so regardless of what station you use, you have a 1/5 chance of getting the same gas.
except into curbs...woohoo changing tires in the rain while the rest of the crew drive off in true Top Gear fashion
I use BP and Chevron alternating and I get about 16mpg. I had a lot of highway driving one week and got 20.1mpg! I just have a heavy foot and I have not seen 20+mpg unless I drive slower than Cohen.
Car: 2003 WRX (stage 2) Gas: QT Mileage: 300-320 before light average: 320 best: 360 (on shell gas) but i have a slight misfire due to bad spark plugs right now... I noticed that when i put in shell my car will drive 10-20 miles more per tank and just feels more powerful... also lost some gas mileage when i went from a 205 tire to 225. and wow.. you guys drive fast to not hit over 300 miles lol (or i drive too slow)
Car: 2005 WRX Gas: Whatever station is closest when the light comes on. Mileage: 280-300 before light I fill up at the nearest gas station once my light comes on. If the light comes on during my drive to work, I usually fill up at a Citgo near my office. If driving home from work, I usually fill up at a BP by my house. If the light comes on driving to Wagunz, i fill up at Costco. Glad I could show you the greatness of Costco gas.
My old 2.0L got 25-26 mpg and was mostly Shell gas. The 2.5L drank gas and I only had it 2 weeks after Doug tuned it . But the trip home was 24 mpg. Sheesh my shoebox Xterra is getting better mpg than many of you @ 22.8 mpg and it gets cheapo Hess gas or whatever is cheap and nearby.
Hmm, all winter everytime I've tried costco (the one on windward/hwy 9ish), I get timing pulled on the car, and my mileage avg'd to about 19-21 vs the 24ish I seem to get from Shell. Maybe, I'll give it a go again next tank. Edit: I disregard tanks that were used for north georgia driving (but so far thats averaging 13mpg over 18 tanks)
i feel retarded when i drive slow to save gas and a prius or a corolla blow my doors off on the highway lol
Yeah, retarded for them to be driving like that and making their car not what it's supposed to be in economy.
its just sad cuz i know they will get better gas mileage even when they are speeding compared to what i was driving at haha...
what's wrong doing 90mph and getting 25mpg? Maybe with those comments you should head over to the Prius forums
Of course they're going to be getting good gas mileage for the speed that they're going. Just saying that it's a waste.
i was doing 85 on the interstate on the bike and got smoked by a prius doing easily 95+. i still would have gotten better gas mileage. ~47-55mpg on the bike only premium, but usually whatever is cheapest. my old stage 2 hybrid 02 wrx still gets ~27mpg on whatever is the cheapest premium approaching 100k on the swap/180k on the car. and my bmw gets ~27-33 on premium, sometimes plus. whatever gas station is cheapest. easily get 400 miles out of a tank, have seen 500+ if i baby it on the highway. i have always found (in all my vehicles) that if you keep the oil changed regularly (not going way over) then mileage will stay consistently higher. and i only use mobil 1 full synthetic in all vehicles. and change them all ~3000miles or less
Lol @ no one using the requested format Car: 2011 WRX Sedan (16.9 gallon tank) Gas: QT premium Mileage: i dont measure per tank. Avg: trip computer says 24 ATM. (99% of my driving is highway) and its 24 while driving like an ***. i cant get my self to hyper mile a turbocharged subaru
Car: 2009 WRX Sedan (16.9 gal tank) Gas: BP (typically) Mileage: ~330 miles a tank, best 423. But I usually fill up once a week as instead of on E. My local BP has Premium for mid grade price on Friday. Avg: 24.54 best=28.06. Not trip computer but actual mileage. Only had my car two months, so not a lot of data yet. I drove down to Atlanta last weekend from Asheville, and filled up in SC on my way. Made it down to Atlanta, drove like an A hole to fit in, then made it back to SC to fill up again. That was my 423 mile tank. I was getting 33-34 mpg according to the trip computer until I hit 285 and sat in Friday rush hour traffic. I just flashed Stage 1 on my car last week from one of the stock cobb maps too.
Wife's Legacy Car: 2005 LGT Gas: QT mainly Mileage: doesn't usually wait till it is empty Avg: 25 around town, 28+ highway Stage 1 tune Car: 1966 F250 Gas: any 87 Mileage: donno Avg: 8-12 lol Car: 1989 Mustang LX 2.3l Gas: qt mainly Mileage: 350+ but I have not let it go to empty as I am afraid the old sending unit may not be accurate! Avg: 30-35
I averaged 22mpg to day...filled up and got on Hwy drove to peachtree city and back...also sat in the 5:30 BS Traffic 2008 STi Bp 250/tank 19avg mpg
The Flex gets 22 on the highway cruising at 80. I get about the same in the WRX but it takes 93 while the Flex takes 87. Doesn't seem right that a 4200 lb box can match the economy of a 3100 lb WRX. It's actually cheaper for me to drive an SUV than my Subaru.
It goes up for the Flex as well. At 70 its 24 in both but I just can't drive that slow on the interstate.
lol. I'll have mpgs calculated next time I fill my tank and I'll post up. I'm at 1/2 tank now with about 170 miles since I filled up.
im getting dominated in mpg...265mile from full to a 1/4 lol need to do some slowing down and less traffic sitting
anyone running e85 and got stats on highway mileage? have a honda fit, using it for long distance stuff, 33 to 35 mpg at 80...80+ 500 mile trips to fla and back. wondering what my 2.0 WRX would get if i loaded it up on e85 (have a map for it) currently running 93oct with appropriate map because i may use it on my next trip down south, though i'd like to make a run with e85. there are enough stations between home and winterhaven to make an e85 run possible. speeds would be same as fit.. 80 or thereabouts.
