stripped wheel studs...

so... I was already running on 4 wheel studs on my rear drivers side as one was stripped and rusted, but when I was putting new wheels on the car the front drivers side decided to do the same...

so as a result I am now driving on 8 wheel studs on the drivers side and 10 (as it is supposed to be) on the passenger side. this makes me EXTREMELY nervous :sx:.

so, I was wondering if i can just go and buy a set of hubcentric wheel adapters along with longer wheel studs and spacers while at it.

YES this is sort of an excuse for me to get a spacer to make the wheels sit more 'flush' if you will :naughty: but I just wanted to know if you guys have any brand that I should go for and what to look out for. I would assume even with the longer studs there is probably a safe margin on how big of a spacer i can run?

get a tap and die set and re-thread the studs...

yea its just that i feel like the other side will start to do the same thing so i kind of want to take this chance to replace all four corners... I suppose there is a more proper way to do this though

First off if you are stripped wheel studs you are tightening your lugs WAAAY too tight. ~80 ft lb is all you need.

Running spacers isn't gonna do anything....you are still running minus two studs unless you replace them.

    It's a stupid easy fix.

right... I`m not saying getting spacers will solve the issue but i was gonna take it as an excuse to get a whole new assembly of adapters with new wheel studs and spacers while at it because i feel like eventually all the other wheel studs will do the same (mind you my car does have 160k miles).

will probably end up taking it to allpro anyways so its gonna be easy fix for me either way

stripping the studs has nothing to do with the mileage on the car. It happens from improper maintenance of the wheel (ie, overtightened lugs like Cool said).
