Car is a 2011 WRX, when i depress the clutch pedal, I hear a slight clicking noise. It only happens when I press it slowly. When I first got my car it only happened once in a blue moon. But now it happens everytime I press the clutch.
I asked one of the techs at subaru and he said its normal .And that they could replace some bracket or something under warranty but it would come back....
Anyone else have/had a similar problem?? The clicking everytime ipress in the clutch is really getting on my nerves....

FUUUUU maybe its time to get rid of cruise control.
This has to be the most annoying sound in the world.

Lol i can almost feel it in the pedal.
the loud droning of my exhaust isnt even enough to cover it up.
people always say "i think somethings wrong with your pedal" when they ride in my car.

it doesn't sound like an old door creaking/more than a clicking right?

If it's just the cruise control switch, is it the same as the older versions that don't seem to click? I don't remember ninja01's (wayne with the gold forester at install day) doing that when I fixed his loose switch.

Its definitely a click. If you press it slowly, it creaks a little but the clicking is what really gets to me.

Yea that's where I was going with that idea... lol

You can go confirm that its the switch by crawling under the dash - above the clutch pedal should be a switch pointing at it with a plastic stopper. The switch extends as you push the pedal (and stopper) away from it. Hold the clutch in with your hand and manually actuate the switch. Is that the click you're hearing?

Can you duplicate the click by touching your Cruise Control lever? I had a similar issue, but mine was a rattle caused by the Cruise Control lever. I put a small piece of Speaker Grill goo on the lever to change the resonance frequency, and no longer hear it ever.

The newer models don't have levers. It's just buttons on the steering wheels.

It definitely sounds like its the switch.. lots of complaints about it on nasioc and such. I just crawled under my dash yesterday and tested - no click. Get under there and snap a pic of the switch and connector. If its the same as an older model, look for a partout on nasioc or try AllPro.

    Alright i made a Video.
as you can see, the clicking only happens in the first inch or so of travel. I also noticed that i can prevent it from making noise if i depress the clutch by pushing the very top of the pedal with the "palm" of my foot. :eek3:
i cant pinpoint where the noise is coming from
