I currently do not have a stereo in my car :( with that being said I am looking to get a little something... I am not into the big bass stuff so there will not be any subs involved I am thinking more along the lines of a Deck with 2 door speakers just for some simple music. Anybody have anything laying around possibly for sale? Not trying to spend a whole lot on a sound system I just wanna be able to listen to some music while waiting in traffic!

    This for the Deck

Get a better headunit. You will thank me later.

Wait till Fry's has a sale on speakers. I have seen some crazy prices for Polk and Kicker 6 1/2 from Frys.

I don't think the door speakers you linked will fit.

    I think you're suppose to use 6inch speakers...but I may be wrong

There really is no such thing as 6" speaker for automotive applications. 3 1/2, 4, 5 1/4 and 6 1/2 are typical round car speaker sizes. Shallow mount 6 1/2 speakers will fit without any spacer or buy/build spacers to fit deeper speakers.

Sorry man, you are wrong. Subaru are typically 6 1/2 in the front and 5 1/4 in the rear. Some can get a shallow mount 6 1/2 in the rear doors.

Best buy doesnt even sell a 6" car speaker because it is not a normal size speaker for car applications.

Yeah 6 1/2 will fit in the front. They are just a PITA on most Subaru's. You will have to get a spacer for almost any decent 6 1/2 to fit in the front doors.

Can you tell I'm not really an audio guy? haha.

The stock BD Legacy speakers were 6.5....and almost all of the aftermarket speakers will fit the door....untill you try and roll the window down all the way lol. I have spacers in my door speakers now

sounds like you would be good with someones old OEM deck and couple of door speakers. great fitment and it plays music.

ill take a look in the garage i'm pretty sure i stashed my door stockers somewhere. you can have them if i find them.

Everything really depends on your budget and your goals. There is not a perfect solution for everyone as these variables differ greatly between people.

That said...Alpine or Pioneer on the deck. Everything starts with the source and the UX on both is much better than everything else and they provide a great starting signal.

Unfortunately for Subaru owners, our doors are extremely shallow. You might have to have spacers made to clear the windows. Ryan Slade (mentioned previously in this post) made mine and installed my speakers/custom fab'ed my pillars. Top notch work for sure.

So do you have a budget? Listening preferences?

Frys has Kicker 6.5 speakers for $49 this week.

Find a Pioneer Deck that has Ipod controls. Should be easily under $150. Find the lowest price you can on the internet and frys will match it.

I'd sink more money into the HU than I would speakers.

Good speakers are nice, but a good receiver can make even bad speakers sound the best they can.
