double-adj strut vs d-specs

    so... currently i`m on d-specs, and although i really like the upgrade, i`m not quite happy with it all the way. will I need to upgrade to the double-adjustable (bound AND rebound) struts to be able to have street comfort AND maximum performance?

    What exactly are you unhappy about? Or perhaps the better question, what is it exactly that you're after?

    That's the thing, if you want control of both rebound and compression, you really have no choice than to go to a good non basic coilover set up.

    Too my knowledge there isn't a strut that offers control over both and someone that wants both would just go to a coilover system
    Because of the expense

    I want to throw the car through the corner on rough pavement without having to worry about my car chassis being unsettled but I feel like d specs arent quite capable of doing so...

    Then you want additional droop / travel -- consider the TIC/AST coilovers with 9" of droop :rofl:

    would that set up be comfortable on the streets as well?

    do you have upgraded sway bars/ strut tower braces? I have d-specs as well and have had a similar feeling, they are not bad but not quite enough. also what size wheel and tire setup? sidewall can make a huge difference in how the car feels

    How long have you had the dspecs on your car? Shocks do go bad after awhile and tend to make the car's handling feel less than desirable. Also I know very few people that buy double adjustables solely for street use. Would you even know how/what to adjust while riding on the street versus somebody who is using their shocks for track or autox that will tune their setup based on driving their car in a controlled environment?

    yea.. its mainly the wheels really. I had 17" on with all seasons, and currently on my stockers with summer tires (same brand) and the 17", although had lower limit, just felt sharper in the turn ins and was easier to rotate. Ride was considerably better (i like the car a bit firm) from less bobblehead.

    they have maybe a little more than 1000 miles now :)

    I think i`m gonna try a different spring set up. prodrives are just too soft for what I want.

    have you tried playing with the compression settings on your d-specs?
