So on my way to work this morning I got a flat tire. When I mean flat tire I mean there is a freaking hole in the tire, like something took a bit out of it lol. I pull the spare out and the jack and then come to realize that the jack (which is a bottle jack) will not fit under the car. My only option was to drive real slow to a dealership and borrow a floor jack. Lucky a chevy dealership was right down the road. As I was changing the tire I noticed that the back tire was loosing air also which now means I am going to be tire shopping. What a great day so far! Got about $450-500 to spend on tires, so let the fun begin.

Any suggestions? They need to be all season and also be able to handle the abuse in the mountains.

$137/each for Yokohama S.Drive from Discount Tire. That's their price online but talking to them in person you might be able to get it cheaper.

I was saying discount tire b/c they order for you and mount them. But since were talking about tires, anyone know of good place to get your tires mounted/balance/aligned if you order them online??

Tirerack.com has a full listing of approved dealers. Buy your tires on sale, ship them to the shop. Drop your car off. Pick it up later with new tires.

Discount Tire does the same thing.

That's when you carry 2 good short pieces of 2x4 wood so you can drive up on it to get clearance ;)

Yeah and you can store them inside the spare. Never in the way. Works in a pinch well.

Redneck in me comes in handy many times....lol
