Carrabelle Speed Festival October 22nd, 2011!! WannaGOFAST.com is proud to present our second event of 2011 at the Carrabelle-Thompson airport in Carrabelle, FL. The Carrabelle Speed Festival is well.....all about SPEED! Test your vehicle and driving skills on an open runway. We will be doing standing HALF MILE races all day long!! The best part is that we are allowing head to head competition instead of solo runs like other airstrip events. The theme will be classic grudge match style racing from a roll or a dig! Hit speeds you only dreamed about on a ¼ mile track in a fun and safe environment! Come join us for what is sure to be an exciting day of speed and entertainment! We will have a live DJ spinning tracks all day long and food provided from the Pit Stop Grill! Not really.....same concept. Was thinking about going until the "no firearms" part. You know that Florida is a recripocating state for GA Weapons Permits, right? I understand that you probably don't want people packing all over, but do you really expect people to travell hundreds of miles, with expensive trucks, trailers, racecars, tools, spares, and cash..........but not carry a weapon on the entire trip because its not allowed on the premisis? (talking weapons permit holders here)
Dumont the events are obviously similar yet very different in a few regards. One is a top speed solo shootout. While ours is a heads up 1/2 mile dragrace. Not saying one is better than the other just pointing out the obvious differences. I respect the fact you have your own opinion about the firearm situation. If you have a concealed carry permit that's one thing. We aren't going to be patting you down like an airport security checkpoint. Just trying to keep the event as safe as possible and doing our best to appease everyone's concerns. Let us know if you have any other concerns and we will do our best to address them!
