So I was cruising around IWSTI the other day and saw this car... The side skirts really compliment the lines of the 2011's and looks great with the black lip...so I decided I want to do the same for my 2011 WRX hatch. However, right now they are only available in carbon until about mid October, so my option are the following... Get the CF versions, wrap them in black matte vinyl to match the front lip. Get the CF versions, wrap the front lip in 1080 3M carbon vinyl, clear coat to match side skirts Wait until mid October when they are back in stock for the poly versions. What do you guys think?
The only reason I am even considering it is because these are Bayson R's...so the cost difference between the two versions isn't all that much.
The poly version will last longer than the carbon version. One hit on say a speed bump and the carbon ones will crack.
I went against my better judgement and ordered them anyway. It isn't a big enough price difference to worry about it and I will just end up plasti dipping them to match my front which I just sprayed to make it look new again. And I have too much going on next month to worry about getting them in and on. If they were the real Chargespeed ones that I had to mortgage my house for...it would have been a different story! Plus...if they do ever make a CS carbon lip replica...I'll probably go that route instead of the Subaru lip I have now.
