First, let me just start of by saying this is purely a cosmetic upgrade as I have found the 2011 braking on the WRX to be adequate for mountain runs/daily use. However, they do look a little bit off with my open wheel design, so I am looking into possible upgrades for the calipers/rotors that will finish off the outside look of the car. So far...from what I can gather with searching around online, I have the following options in regards to the 2011 WRX. Red 4 Pot Subaru Calipers w/matching rears 04 Brembos - They fit 5x100 but removing the stock gold and painting red or black would be a pain StopTech - Fantastic brakes but expensive. I am looking to see what you guys think would be a good option and if I am missing any other options that should be on the list. Also, good sources for actually getting them in.
Because I wanted to make the car my own and I am still not up to STI cost. I won't be going north of 400hp so the 6 speed was not as big of an issue for me. I still would have done downpipe, tune, sways, suspension, bushings, etc. with a STI...so I would have been spending a lot of money on some of the differences I would have been paying extra for. If I was planning on keeping the car stock...probably would have went STI. Also...if the WRX had not gotten the widebody for 2011...I would have been in a STI.
Yeah I'm flip flopping between newer WRX or STi or some other car. As far as brakes, why not just paint them? Or you can get these.... http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/Red-...r_Truck_Parts_Accessories&hash=item335f324ea7
there was a wilwood group buy on red or black 4 and 6 pots over at 3gwrx...maybe you can still get in on it somehow
