So look around and look for a table with a seriously disproportionate amount of guys to girls. It's either going to be a group of GT guys or WRX guys. There will likely be an Asian or two in the mix and probably a balding redhead. If you see the balding redhead it's probably an organized WRX meet. Maybe I've been in it too long but it's generally pretty easy to spot the table of car enthusiasts even if you roll in somewhere and see a bunch of Hondas, Lexus', Mustangs, etc. Always a bunch of dudes and maybe a couple girlfriends looking bored.
There was a large table with a bunch of GT folks by the tags on their shirts. The owner of the black 5door WRX was nice enough to do a subaru wave in the parking lot.
