So I have a thread going about this popping in the suspension. Well at least I thought it was the suspension. Turns out its a bad rotor and I need brake pads. Dealership quoted me $1300 for the new rotors and brake pads and $140 for a stud replacement. Is that a little crazy or is it just me almost $1500 for replacing a stud and to do all four rotors and pads? Obviously Im just paying the diagnostics fee and gonna do it myself just like wow thats outrageous.

Dealerships aren't making as much money selling cars these days, so the revenue has to be made somewhere else.

stud replacement isn't cheap, either. AllPro offers killer pricing on that, I believe Techlord / Koko had them do it for the coupe.

the dealerships are going to make money off of service, but it's mostly labor charges, as each task has a predetermined time associated with it. For the most part, they're not making crazy profits off the parts, OEM equipment in general is more expensive. I believe last time I checked (a couple years ago, fwiw), DBA4000 rotors were cheaper than OEM rotors

Front Studs are really easy, the hub just unbolts, its the rear thats a pain.

I can get the DBA Rotors as well as some super cheap replacement rotors. The OEM Rotors are insanely over priced.

Get the super premium thick rotors from Napa. I ended up spending $320 for all four rotors. I got the Stoptech pads front and rear from TIC. Works better than stock.
