Anyone on here work for/ever worked for Kaufman Tire? They came to Georgia Southern last week during a career fair and were probably the only mildly interesting company present. I talked to a store manager they had at the show and gave them my resume. I just got an email inviting me to come to their corporate office over christmas break for a tour and interview. the guy i talked to told me their PR director (girl who actually emailed me) was straight out of college working at corporate making decent $$. so there are opportunities other than just changing tires or running a store. just curious if anyone had any insight into them from inside company (other than being a customer). Thought I remembered someone on here working at one. doing my research before i go up there.
I worked with someone who worked for Kauffman for 9 years as a mechanic. He said it was a good job, but he eventually left after some new people got hired that he couldn't stand to be around
i'm assuming thats at the store level, not corporate. and that happens anywhere in retail. but thanks for the insight. anywhere that's worth staying for 9yrs, can't be all that bad. i was interested to learn they are still privately owned (not traded on wall street), that's important to a lot of people
Ellenwood (off I-675) near the airport. I'm assuming for distribution purposes it was moved there in the 90's.
Bumping this, my interview/corporate visit is scheduled for December 19th (Monday) at 10am, so I'll be up there that weekend before probably (drinkies!). Anyways, I'll be looking into whatever they have available, but anyone from the South Side (Ellenwood area) have any insight into good areas to live? good apartment complexes? etc?
i'm dating a chick off and on who lives in ellenwood, so i've been down that way often. she lives near the base and that factory. certain days, the entire ellenwood area reeks because of that factory. other than that, its a relatively nice area...go too far in certain directions, and you'll be in the hood. couldn't tell you about apartments down there...after living in apartments in atlanta since i moved here, it seems to be a hit or miss with any type of apartment down here.
yeah i've just been browsing apartment sites. looking for the nicer looking buildings. i guess, even if its in a bad area, a gated apartment community would be acceptable. but i have bad allergies, so i'd probably stay away from immediately around Ellenwood. don't mind a little commute, plus 675 is always empty when im on it, so anywhere around there would probably be close enough
