In past two days, my battery just dies over night. For one, I know it takes more then 2 hours to die on me, concluded this earlier after leaving gym, praying to god that it would turn on. Second, I tested the battery and it was fine, 95% life. Tested the alternator, it passed. What could be draining out the battery? >.< Also, all lights are off. Position lights off. o.o

Also, I never bother to pay much attention, but does the millage clock stay on with the car shut off and keys out with alarm on?

Not sure on the clock part. Out of all the 24+ years of doing car audio, I've seen other cars have issues with the radio drawing power even when it's off but I have been told otherwise before.

My mileage odometer stays on even with the key removed and vehicle locked.
If you'd had the battery and alternator checked out then you def have a draw coming from some where. If you can't pinpoint it or don't have the tools to diagnosis it, take it to a shop instead of pulling your hair out.

Wait, isn't there the factory security light that also blinks when the car is off? Can't remember cause I just don't sit there and stare at my car all day. LOL!

could be a bad ground too. check all over for loose connections. loose grounds are more common than most people think.

if you're not checking all your connections when you change your oil, you're not checking often enough.

I think it's time for a new battery. Could be a bad cell in the battery and since its getting colder weaker batteries tend to die. How old is the battery anyways? When you tested the battery what was the CCA measuring at?

amp probably killed the battery. if its drained once, it will never successfully hold a full charge again

But it should hold it to where it would start, or no?

It should but worst case, take it back and say it's defective.

depends. below 10.5V you have a hard time pulling the lead sulfate off the plates. Applying a >14V charge in a timely manner to the battery can prevent the lead sulfate from crystallizing on the electrode plates

Did your amp not have a switch already? Every amp I have owned had a separate feed for switched power in which the radio fed. So is it your amp or is it your radio?

New battery seems to be working just fine. I doubt I'm putting the subs back in with the amp, thang is heavy anyways. Ill have the subs and amp for sale soon on here.

What was my conclusion to my problem? Was it a bad battery? Looks like it. Will I try the speakers and amp again to see if it will drain my battery, no.
