so you like it except how it drives?

I guess you could buy it and sit in it in the driveway and crank up the stereo in it. pretty expensive for all that, though

I've got a sweet lazyboy and a Ipod I'm willing to let go for 24k.

    This...

I didn't want to ask to drive his car since he had only had it for about 5 days. This is a case of the internet not conveying the implied parts and me not full explaining.

I think you conveyed your message and intent well in this post. Nicads just anti BRZ

I agree. Most everyone on here anti anything with < 250 hp.

tends to happen when my 6,000lb chevy tahoe can outrun a 'sports' car.

That said, I don't dislike the BRZ, other than the fact it's overpriced IMO. They look much, much better in person, though if I were to get one, Shring and I would have the exact same car. That SWP is so fucking sexy

Yeah, the BRZ is the first Subaru I have seen that the SWP looks good on it.

I would probably go dark grey though on my own car.

    Fail.........straight line talk.

I'd like to see that Tahoe go head to head in the mtns with it.

I'd also like to see the BRZ carry a 6000lb boat, or more than two people. It's beside the point.

You can pick and choose options to put them where ever you like, but straight line or not, a $30k+ SPORTS car should be able to out perform a chevy tahoe in ANY performance test you want to throw at it.

Well I can agree with that statment but I guess I'm one of the few that agree's with wiki's definition of a classic SPORTS car.

To me performance driving is maneuverability at the limits...not how much power or who you can beat.

It can however be interpreted many ways and none are necessarily incorrect.

The tahoe is not faster than the brz. or did I miss something?

  13. nicad

nicad Yes I am a troll

I like the car... I just feel that people are liking it for weird reasons.

none of us know (except shring) how it drives. everything else is just bullshit and speculation

edit: would you consider my BMW a 'sports' car? it has 4 doors and is heavy.

Speak for yourself......I knew how it drove before Shiring even took delivery of his.

You M5 is not a classic sports car. It's a high performance sports car. The BRZ fits the 'classic' sports car definition to the t.

Yep, as they should be its a evolutionary leap backwards.

I'm glad they are building a sports car doesn't change the fact that it needs more power.

I'm also glad Matt is happy with his purchase. To each his own.

I really like the stance and paint scheme. I think supercharging it would be awesome and make me want to buy one

  22. slowwrx

I'm not a fan of supercharging on small displacement engines.

I would rather have a turbo in the Dom 1.5 size range. Front Mounted turbo like the new legacy for quick boost response.

    Could be verycool

for sure from that angle! still torn on the front ends... I like the fog area of the BRZ better, but not a fan of the mustache area. I'd have to buy a black one. ;)

agreed. when the car is rolling straight at you, it has a very aggressive looking stance. I think the designers did a great job on the front end of that model

  40. crazyazn

crazyazn I like naps Staff Member Supporting Member

Also surprisingly (maybe just for me) the BRZ's front end is much more aggressive than the FRS's when I saw it yesterday. That front 'lip' molded into the bumper juts out fairly far and ties in really well with everything over the FRS's to me, its like a 'under bite' while the FRS is a 'over bite'.
It doesn't help that I'm really bias to the white that Matt went with though.

Went up to Lamin-X on Saturday AM so they could use the car as a template for their product lineup. Below are the results. The guys up at Lamin-X run an a top notch facility. If only they weren't up in the middle of nowhere.

    Headlights: 6% tint
    DRL & Foglamp: Clear
    Side marker: GunSmoke (12%)
