Anyone know off the top of their head what the lowest offset on a set of rims I can use on my 2007 WRX is?

I plan on going as close to stock as possible. If my research does me right, I believe stock, they are 17x7.5 bolt pattern: 5x100 and the offset is +55.

i think the most common aftermarket size is +48, but its different for everyone. you can 'make' anything fit. just a matter of how much $$ you want to spend, or how much you care it looks right and if you care if it looks like shit or not

Well, you should know by most of my posts, that I can't spend a lot. My wife is talking about getting me a set for Christmas. I figured for ease, I would just go as close to the stock sizes as possible so that I wouldn't have to do anything special to the car to make it fit.

I was also pondering just getting my stockers powder coated black...I've got a guy that will do them $40 a wheel (veteran to veteran discount) and his work looks damn good too.

you can go as far as +40 without having to do any pulling i believe, and depending on tire size you just need a light fender roll
at one time i had +42 17x9 with dunlop 255/40's which run slightly larger than size(265/40)
with only a slight roll - no rubbing
