I know it's Christmas Day and all, but I just noticed this when I went to change my low beam bulb today. First of all, the plug for the bulb was kind of melted, so luckily I had a couple of terminals that fit an H7 bulb, so I crimped them on to the wires for the headlight, wrapped them in electrical tape, and called it a day. Now on to my other question. I am posting a video of the sound I am hearing when the ignition switch is on and where I think it may be coming from. It only happens when the switch is on. Obviously if it's going on when the engine is running, then I wont be able to hear it. Soooooo, my main question is, after you all viewing this....is this a normal sound when the engine isnt running but the switch is on without the engine running? http://s91.photobucket.com/albums/k299/jautry27/?action=view¤t=IMG_1264.mp4
or you hear your fuel pump, pull the 15amp fuse from slot 11 of fuse panel and see if the noise goes away.
every time you drive your car you'll discover a new noise, smell or rattle. it's what makes a subaru a subaru
I'm just extra paranoid about mine. Mainly because of what happens before, with the engine going out and all, plus I ended up doing all the work myself, so I'm always worried if I didn't do something right or not. So far, the only problems I've had since putting the new engine in has been the radiator busting a leak, lowbeam light plug getting too hot and melting, and now this questionable "buzzing" sound under the hood. I would say its not too bad yet considering I'm a novice and did most of the work buy following a repair manual.
I had a guy on NASIOC tell me the buzzing I am hearing is the ETC opening about 1%-2% getting ready for startup. Make sense
