I'm currently in the market for some gauges. I was looking at some cheaper alternatives such as prosport but after heavy research I'm going to save the headaches and buy proper gauges. First off I'm looking at getting boost(would like psi vs kPa), oil pressure, and a/f. I'm wondering if it's worth getting the defi advance bf over the racer gauges. The racer gauges don't need the controller, are cheaper, and come in psi. For a/f I was looking at innovate motorsports. From what I can tell all of the above will match pretty well with the sti gauges. Does anyone have any other thoughts of other options? AEM, autometer, or others? I'm also looking at the ATI clock cluster. Any input would be greatly appreciated.

The Prosport Premium's are the way to go on a budget. It's the cheap versions to stay away from.

The new SMY gauge cluster is nice if you only want 2 gauges or if you need more than the 3 you get with a clock pod. I modded my clock pod with a fleabay pod bonded and wrapped. justinxecushyn has it now if you want to see how that turned out

Speaking from just my personal experience I have nothing but good things to say about Prosport Halo series. I have boost and oil pressure, they both work great.

I have the STRI ones; oil pressure, boost and oil temp and I'm very happy with them. As for the A/F, I would go with Innovate also. I, also, have the ATI pod and it blend pretty well with the dashboard. Didn't get any distortion or discoloration of the material but my car doesn't stay parked too long in direct sunlight except when I'm driving. Hope this help.

From what I've read the biggest problem with all prosport gauges is the sending units being terrible and crapping out in no time. I did glance at the STRI gauges but didn't give any thought to them due to the defi racer gauges being just slightly more expensive. I have looked at the SMY cluster, very nice and if I only went with 2 gauges I'd be all over it. Anyone have thoughts on the racer vs advance bf or AEM/autometer?

sending units on the CHEAP Prosports fail as do all the others in that price range and seems to be only with oil pressure sending units.

Unless the A/F gauge is a true wideband, you are wasting your money. The blinkey light widebands that run off the ECU is pure trash...by the time it shows you anything accurate you already blew the engine. Just for show.

I loved my old Innovate Wideband. It fit in the vent PERFECT. [IMG]

Ordering defi racer imperial boost and oil pressure in 60mm and innovative wideband in red with a ati clock pod. The oil sensor thread pitch says 1/8 pt this will work without needing an adapter to the galley correct?

I've read things saying yes I'll have everything needed and other things saying I won't. Anyone have a clue?

Here's a pic of the new gauges. Picture doesn't begin to do them justice (I know the boost gauges is slightly off center, I was trying to adjust the peak ring on the top and turned the gauge slightly. I'll need to pull the pod out to adjust real quick.) The Defi's are perfectly clear, glare in picture.
