Is there any reason to not get this downpipe? Does anyone on here run it? Did it fit correctly? I'm looking at either putting a cobb or borla hush to it. http://www.erzperformance.com/CNT-Version-2-performance-02-07-Subaru-WRX-and-STI-p/dp-02wrx.htm
The CNT downpipes were actually pretty good. Dont think either exhausts will fit this downpipe since it has a 3" Flat flange and the two exhausts you mentioned are designed to fit the factory downpipe. You could always pay a muffler shop to cut off the flange on the exhaust side and weld in a 3" flat flange.
Do you know of any cbe's that look and sound like those two that I wouldn't have to cut up? I'm guessing the cutting part and putting a new flange on it is not that big of a deal.

I'd stay as far away from gimmick motorsports as possible... There's a reason they're called gimmick...
I run it. Fits pretty well, one of the bolts below the bell mouth is hard to get at, but other than that its great. Had it for about two years now, no issues
seems like your going for the quiet-er side of exhausts. Invidia Q300 is pretty stock looking and not very loud. Flat flange for the cat back too.
I have an invidia v3 catless downpipe sitting here that I will sell you for half the cost of the ERZ. It has 3 bungs for various sensors - basically the same exact thing you've asked/posted about. It was wrapped, so it's a little nasty. I'm in Cumming so it'd be a local pickup for you. You're more than welcome to come by and take a look at it. Shoot me a pm if you're interested.
Right now I basically have a strait pipe from the cat going back. So, it pretty loud.lol Looking for something that has a deep rumble to it and looks almost stock.
It's bell mouth and looks EXACTLY like the ERZ do in the pic, except that the extra bung is in a different location. Sorry, maybe it's a version 2. Don't remember exactly.
The Invidia is cheap and its one of the nicest downpipes on the market. Why even bother with anything else.
Does anyone know if you can get just the muffler from the borla hush exhaust? I've looked but haven't found anything yet. I wanted to get that and then have a exhaust shop weld up a 3" pipe up to it. Does the resonator make that big of a difference?
Last time I checked you can't get just the muffler and yes the resonator makes a big difference. The Borla Exhaust is really nice one of the few that I think is worth the money.
Is cutting the end off to weld on a 3" flange worth it to make it a true 3" exhaust? I would have for that part to be a bottle neck in the whole thing. As a side note the cobb off the shelf stage 2 map. Will that work correctly with a catless DP, borla hush and spt short ram intake? On their site it says that it is only recommend for a cobb catted dp and cobb sf intake. But while doing some research it looks like tons of people have done it. I know that a pro tune is the way to go and I do plan on having one done. But in the mean time I wanted to know if any of you have done it and your experience with it.
You actually don't even have to cut it, there is a slip joint on the end and there are companies that make a 3 inch adapter for it. All of that should work fine with the Cobb Stage 2 map.
I saw that grimmspeed and a few other companies make a slip on adapter. Guess it does not matter that portion of the exhaust is only 2.5" instead of 3" like the rest. I thought it would be better to have the whole exhaust 3".
not until you're pushing closer to 400whp. I ran the cobb TBE and they still donut that stupid joint at 2.5", even though the ENTIRE rest of the system is 3". I just ran it restricted until i went rotated, then had an exhaust shop hack off the 2.5" piece and fit it with a 3" for the new downpipe
This would do the trick then. http://www.grimmspeed.com/catalog/product_info.php?cPath=22&products_id=224
