So a friend is selling his bugeye wagon. Just trying to see if you guys think it's worth it or if I should try to negotiate it down. Here is his description:

Ok guys here is the info on my bugeye WRX
    2003 Subaru Impreza WRX wagon
    230,000 miles(bought car two yrs ago @200,000)
Pulls hard on boost/ no smoke under hood or tailpipe
Engine runs great and trans doesn't grind or pop out of gear
Clean carfax "I put a refinish claim on the insurance after my back bumper got scratched in a parking lot"
    JF1GG29623G809742
I've kept all maintenance records current:
Mobil 1 5-30 synthetic blend oil changes every 3,500 miles
    Zero sludge concerns
Trans fluid changed by previous owner
New NGK spark plugs installed last night
Drop in K/N air filter cleaned and reoiled
Timing belt was changed at 150,00 by last owner
After I bought the car I put in a STi steering rack with poly steering bushings
STi front and rear sway bars with end links
18 inch Prodrive P1 wheels with Hexa Tires 225/45ZR18 tires 75% tread remaining
    Rotated regularly
Brakes are ceramic pads front and rear
Megan racing adjustable coil overs replaced the blown factory struts( adjustable preload, adjustable ride height and adjustable valving)
Battery comes with warranty from Walmart- bought last November
I've installed a GP moto air snorkel elbow
Silicone turbo inlet hose/ silicone inter cooler coupler
Turbo was recently swapped out earlier this year with a good unit from a friends 2007 WRX ( the old one had oil burning problems)
A/C blows cold and heater works very well
Fuel filter and PCV valve are new
PCV hoses were split when I bought the car so they have been rerouted from the turbo and vent to atmosphere
I have the factory PCV tubes and brackets still
    Stock up pipe
Catless HKS bell mouth down pipe with added O2 bung for a air fuel tuner or gauge and wrapped in heat insulation header wrap
HKS cat back with a really nice tone at hwy speed and aggressive growl on boost
    Yellow fog light bulbs
New starter with lifetime warranty recently installed
JVC double DIN radio with HD radio and satellite radio connections- USB input plus headphone plug for your phone or iPod
Non smoker car- driver seat has a small tear on the bottom cushion a a little side bolster wear
All interior items are in good working order
    Tinted windows
Factory anti theft alarm system -2 keys and 2 remotes
Pwr windows, pwr door locks, cruise control etc
Check engine light is on because the turbo back exhaust not having cats
Veh inspection was done two weeks ago good till 10-2014
    Clean clear Texas blue title
No liens or loans currently on car
I have the following spares that I will throw in to the deal

    Painted factory side skirts
    Stock catted down pipe
    Black unprinted WRC/STi front grille
    Momo/Sparco steering wheel hub kit
Factory fender liners for front wheels
Set of 4 rally armor mudflaps
Turbo smart two way blow off valve/recerculating inter cooler valve
Factory fender mounted air box snorkel
Polished aluminum rear wagon strut brace
Factory unmodified heat shield for turbocharger

I'm selling the car because I can't afford to pay a shop to put on new wheel bearings- started making noise in the last few weeks and I really want a truck for towing

Looks wise, it's your typical silver bugeye wagon. I'd give it an 8/10. Headlights aren't too faded new paint on most of the car. Looks good on the prodrives/coilovers.

Anyways how much you think it's worth?

Keep in mind other than the turbo the engine and tranny are bone stock with 230,000 miles. He drives like a grandma and has an older GC rally car. I'd be buying this as my DD, not necessarily for fun as I have the bike for that.

Yeah, I was thinking no more than $3500, and that's only because it's a friend. Just want some other thoughts. I think he's posting it on CL for $6k obo. Which is laughable, but I guess some kid might convince his parents to pay that much.

i'm dubious a turbo replacement for burning oil means it has been bone stock its entire life....

Mobil 1 5-30 synthetic blend oil changes every 3,500 miles.....

That's enough for me to say hell no.

Why so? I have been using the high mileage Valvoline stuff for the last 125k miles on my minivan without a single problem. Doesn't burn a drop of oil either.

    Mobil 1 and Subaru's aren't exactly a winning combination.

You been sniffing too much Audi fumes? Mobil 1 and Subaru are never good combos. Nearly all Subarus burn a qt or more of Mobil 1 every 3K miles.

Yeah, I had bad luck with Mobil 1 in my old wrx too. He won't consider less than $5500, so I'm not even worrying about it any more.

Wow no offense but $5500 he needs to put down the crack pipe. 230,000 miles is a LOT.
