So earlier this week I was driving home from work, not hard driving, cruise set at 65, loving the new sound of the car (just installed a downpipe). I get off on an exit and go to make the right turn, and when I gas it, the car starts sputtering. Then the check engine light starts blinking, the traction control light is orange and on, and there is an audible beep. So, I limp it to where I am going and hope that I can maybe reflash and that will fix the problem. Turn the car off, reflash, turn it back on, still rough idle, sputtering sounds ect. So, I try to start driving it home. Same thing happens, lights, beeps, ect.
Long story short, I get it home and have since pulled a "cylinder 2 misfire" code from the AP. I get home and start researching, thinking the worst as I have read the horror stories. So, now instead of enjoying new year's day, I get to trouble shoot the problem. I get a new spark plug ready, and the MAF cleaner and get to work. First up, the MAF. Pulled the air filter, dirty, so I replaced it. Pulled the MAF apart, kind of dirty so I cleaned it. Checked all the vacuum lines, seem secure. Put it back together and same rough idle. So, on to cylinder two. I get the battery out and look down...the cylinder 2 coil pack is completely out of the hole and just dangling along side the engine!!! :eek3: I am not even sure how it got down where it was because it is a TIGHT fit in there.
So, I put it back in and she is purring again! Whew! I thought my pocket was going to be a lot lighter! Just thought I would share...

Yeah, they do! Which is why I found it so weird! I am very happy it was a simple fix!
