    Greetings guys and girls.
I thought I would make a thread for the monthly mountain run that we do after the Caffeine and Octane car show in Alpharetta, GA on the first Sunday of each month. This will be a place to post meet up locations and times, as well as photos from the event. If you want more info on the Caffeine and Octane car show, check out this thread: Caffeine and Octane Show Thread.

So, general info and rough and very tentative schedule
Roads: "The Loop" 19 to 60 to 180.
    Schedule
5:45-6:00- Recommended time to arrive at C&O to park together

8:00ish- Rendezvous at the Shell on Windward( 6185 Windward Pkwy, Alpharetta, GA 30005), and roll up 400 to the gas station next to the Waffle House where 19 separates from 400. There we'll go over the route, gas up, and hit the road!!

11:30iiish--Stop for Lunch at Turner's Corner.

Lastly, this is a dangerous mountain road, and one mistake could put you over the hill in the blink of an eye. To avoid such an unfavorable situation,

not as good as I thought it would be becuase the camera zoomed in while I was trying to wedge the camera into the headrest...but you get the idea. I believe somwhere in the middle of the video we top a blind hill with slight turn right that I had some choice words for...hahaha
Next time, I will sit in the back seat to set the camer up before rolling out.

That's a great video man! Especially for just stuffing it in the Harness hole in the seat. The only not-so-favorite part about it is that it happened to be raining and the fact that we were stuck behind all the slow people. Great video though...Thanks for posting it! I'll try and post some of my pictures here very shortly.

Yeah, it worked out better than expected. I cut out the first part that shows me fumbling around trying to get it in there. It was zoomed out and more in focus for the first bit, but I thought it wasn't set right and tried to reset it on the move. The zoom on that camera is on top, so I the process of trying to re-jigger it I accidentally zoomed in. So next time I'll set it up before we take off.
I got some video from before the rain but it had zoomed in even further so it's not Dashboard than anything...not really with sharing
Would be good to see some more vids/pics!

Suggest adding this link at the end to the initial thread, as we already have a pretty good sticky'd safety guidelines here :) :

Thanks Chip. I've updated the first post. I'm uploading the album to photo bucket right now, so I should be able to post my pictures here in about 15-20 minutes

2014 last time I checked. Why? Is Photobucket too old school or something? Lol. That's the way I've been putting photos on forums since I started 5 years ago.

shoot. I was looking forward to this, but I will be out camping this weekend and won't be back in time to meet up. I am pretty sure that trying those roads with two kayaks on top probably isn't wise.

Yeah I'm going to have to agree with you there. You might end up with two rogue empty kayaks going down the mountain without water. Lol. Who else is joining us this month??

The weather forecast for the weekend has changed twice in the last two days. If it doesn't rain on Sunday for the first Caffeine and Octane of the year, who's down for a little Caffeine, Octane, and Touge??

That's okay. You can just meet us either at Caffeine and Octane and just roll in and roll out with us or meet us at our usual Shell on the other side of Windward.

Sooo, I know this is a long way off, but anyone thinking of planning a mountain run for June? My brother in law will be here from across the pond and thought a C&O then mountain run would be a good way to entertain.

gates open at 7am. so I'm assuming people start showing up around 6:30 or so.

Having said that, it's not for a few more weeks.

I'm planning on getting there early enough to park with everyone, just want to get an idea of when everyone else will be getting there and if we have a spot to park.
