I took my build thread down but I thought you guys might like to see this. The first stage of my build at Vengeance got completed this week. The results are pretty damn awesome. I am working on a full video and everything. If you want to see the entire build thread you can check it out here. http://www.ctsvowners.com/forum/148...-black-raven-6mt-sedan-quest-fastest-6mt.html
Why'd you take the old thread down :-( Also. HOLY CRAP that curve. In what gear does it not smoke the tires?
If I start at a red light in 6th I'm good! In all reality I did a 4th gear pull on 400 against a Viper and smoked my PSS's doing that. At least I still won.
Is it hard to start from a stop? It could have been the dyno, but the start seemed difficult. My neighbor had a C6 Vette that he built to 750 (NA) whp and it was a bitch to start at stop lights. He finally detuned it so it was drivable in traffic.
ho-lee-crap Robb. That video is pretty sweet. Just watched it like 5 times, just waiting for the 28 second mark. I think my hair actually got blown backwards each time I watched it. I wanna ride!!!!
It is almost as drivable as stock. I got stuck in a traffic jam on 400 and had zero issues. Low RPM drivability is great.
Eventually when I do my trunk build out there will be two in a billet bracket. Just getting up and running for Ocala right now.
So here are some install pictures. What I actually like the most about this setup is how CLEAN the install is. Everything is setup so well and professional that it literally looks like nothing is there! How under the hood looks while driving The controllers The solenoids, fuel pressure gauge and other direct port bits Nitrous Outlet control panel Two step switch next to my cutout switch How the interior looks all closed up Tank and pump Profile shot in Mexico highway and 1/2 mile mode The meat Tuning today!!
I admit I know nothing about nitrous oxide but always figured for each shit its that many hp...is 200 shot = 200 HP. I suppose the c16 added to that?
Happy you were alive to make this post.... those numbers are STOOPID How's the driveshaft and axles going to handle that launch in Ocala? I saw the clutch is ready for it.
The number never equals the number on direct port...especially with a standalone. We made 985whp at 50% (100 shot). I won't be able to launch it hard at Ocala since it is on a runway. I doubt I'll ever spray first gear either as it would probably just blow the tires off.
Thanks for the clarification. How is it controlled during a run? You have to press the button or does the standalone handle it all?
Computer controlled. I have a program on a laptop to tell it when to come in, at what percentage and exactly how to ramp up. Gone are the "go baby go" days.
funny how computers have taken a 19th century heirloom and turned into this still running stock bottom end? does it have that odd jingle in neutral now?
Stock bottom end and still going strong. I know several 1000+ stock bottom ends being beat on that are still doing really well. Weird coming from Subaru's to even type that.
Kind of off topic but does Vengance or you have any opinion on that LT4 Z06 failure. I read some guy was just breaking in the motor and had catastrophic failure at 1500ish miles. I haven't closely followed GM's transition from LT1's to LS1's now this LT4, but I wonder what's changed in this recent transition to have failure at stock power levels.
There isn't a lot of info out there about what happened with that car. Vengeance is having good luck with modifying theirs so far. I have heard about it though. Would be interesting to see what the failure was. They might have been trying something to get more power out of it that went wrong or something.
There are two blown ones at the local dealership. One with 450 miles and the other with 2000ish. The tech told me looks like trash in oil the way the bearings were scored ul so I wonder maybe bad castings?
