Weird Idle/ABS Light

    We were in my car coming come tonight from downtown and we were stopped in traffic. All of a sudden I see something lighting up on my dash. I look down and the needle is going from 500RPM to 0RPM back up and back down again and the ABS light was constantly flashing. I turned the car off and back on and it was okay, but what could've caused this?

    i would read up in your manual what the abs light flashing while the car is runing means. you would be suprised the amount of good info there is in the manual. we removed that undriven pully right? hmm stumped.... hopefuly someone else will chime in.

    I dont think that the ABS light is rigged up to any diagnostics other than just the ABS system. Is it possible you've got a bad electrical connection somewhere?

    not sure but maybe ur abs connection was lose, maybe a fuse , or just a random thing to get it checked up..

    maybe the fuse is going or something, you could pull it, cycle the abs pump and see if the CEL returns.

    This just happened, i was stopped 500-0 rpm, abs light
    then i turned the AC off and bam it goes off... wtF?

    It's not like it's a VW. When the CEL goes OFF is when you're supposed to be worried.
